Chureito Pagoda
The Chureito Pagoda is a five storied pagoda on the mountainside overlooking Fujiyoshida City and Mount Fuji off in the distance. The pagoda is part of the Arakura Sengen Shrine and was built as a peace memorial in 1963 nearly 400 steps up the mountain from the shrine's main buildings.
Arakurayama Sengen Park
Arakurayama Sengen Park is a beautiful park in Fujiyoshida, Japan, known for its amazing view of Mount Fuji. The park has the famous five-story Chureito Pagoda, which stands on a hill surrounded by cherry blossom trees. In spring, the pink flowers, red pagoda, and snow-capped Mount Fuji create one of Japan’s most famous sights. In autumn, colorful leaves cover the area, making it just as stunning. To reach the viewpoint, visitors climb about 400 steps, but the breathtaking scenery at the top is worth it. The park is peaceful and a perfect spot for photos, especially at sunrise or sunset. It’s easy to reach by train from Tokyo, making it a popular day-trip destination.

Jass was a great tour guide! He told us about each stop on the itinerary and it helped us to decide whether we wanted to see it or skip it. He took us to clean bathrooms before and after the tour and also took us to nice places to eat. We had a great time.

Qasim was our driver today. He got us to Mt Fuji early so we saw it cloud free. He took us to several spots which we enjoyed. He was an excellent driver.

An afternoon with Shabeer is an afternoon well spent. We have been in Japan for a little over two weeks now, doing a series of guided tours in all parts of the country. I can confidently say today was easily the most pleasant. Shabeer was kind, knowledgeable, funny, had perfect verbal communication, offered a variety of activities given that the 5th station was closed due to snow so we could still have ample access, he was considerate of my husband’s disability, & genuinely cared about making this a memorable afternoon. I would have zero reservation about recommending him to any friend or touring with him again.

We booked a private day trip to Mount Fuji from Tokyo (Shinjuku), and Shabeer was truly the highlight of our entire experience. From the moment he arrived right on time at our hotel, we could tell we were in good hands. He’s incredibly polite, accommodating, and patient, and he made the whole day feel effortless. One thing we appreciated most was that he never imposed his own agenda. Instead, he constantly checked in on what we wanted to do while still giving helpful, thoughtful suggestions based on his deep knowledge of the area. He knows every route, every viewpoint, and all the hidden gems around Fuji. We never felt rushed at any point which is important for us because we prefer quality over trying to cram too many spots. Shabeer was also fantastic when it came to communication. His English is excellent, he explained everything clearly, and he kept us informed throughout the day. He even took amazing photos for us (honestly, some of our best shots from the trip!). A few extra touches made the day feel even more special: He surprised us with a box of chocolates as a gift. When we stopped for authentic karaage in a small local village, he waited in a long line for us and even paid because we didn’t have small change at the time. He made sure we were always comfortable, never rushed, and always enjoying the experience. If you’re considering a private tour around Mount Fuji, ask for Shabeer. He turned what could’ve been a typical sightseeing day into a memorable, relaxed, and genuinely enjoyable experience. Highly recommended!

2 extremes. Bad tour provider - gave us the wrong car and argued for the longest time. Paid for a van and they gave a cheap small Toyota. Then the service provider - Robert - said that the cheap small car was “double the price” of the luxury van we booked. Saeed the driver. On the other hand, gem of a person. Wish he gets better service providers and not liars.
