Every year during the Lantern Festival, Taiwan’s Sky Lantern Festival draws global attention with its breathtaking spectacle — thousands of glowing lanterns rising into the night sky, creating a dazzling sea of light that symbolizes hope and happiness.
This year, let us take you into this magnificent spectacle in Pinxi and Shifen!
Write down your wishes on the sky lanterns, release them into the sky afterwards, and experience the spectacular sight of lanterns being released simultaneously with tens of thousands of travelers from all over the world.

Latecomers or No-Shows will not be refunded, and changes made within 24 hours may not be accepted.
If rain is expected, it is recommended to bring your own umbrella or raincoat just in case.

This tour involves a significant amount of walking and stair climbing. Please ensure you are physically fit to participate.

Jiufen Old Street
Depart from Taipei towards Jiufen on this special Sky Lantern Festival occurring once a year. Wander in the lanes of Jiufen Old Street, feel free to have a taste of local tea in the tea houses or have a bite of the delicious sticky herbal cake!
Pingci Old Street
[Only visiting Pingxi on 2026/02/27] Get ready for the Sky Lantern Festival that is annually held here, and is increasingly getting recognized globally as a key international folklore event.

5.00We booked a private day tour through MyProGuide to do the ubiquitous lanterns and waterfall. We found Jo so amenable we asked if he could help with a guide and driver on other days of our Taiwan holiday too. We ended up using the service on three occasions, each with a great guide and a driver in a very comfortable vehicle. They helped suggest itineraries and accommodated our must-see's whilst taking care of some special dietary needs too. Always available on WhatsApp to help even when not on a tour. Jo has a fabulous service level, and is very well priced. Nothing beats a private tour for convenience either. He even arranged a private transfer from the high speed train for a visit to Alishan national park. Highly, highly recommended.

5.00This is my 1st out of the country and i choose taiwan, i really love to explore taiwan sub urb through the help of Sir jo wong the boss of proguide he's very approachble and love to nice and sir philip yu our driver for the day and our pro photograper, captured many pictures to be treasured i would love to go back to taiwan again ilove taiwan, thumbs up myproguide for making our taiwan trip a memorable one.👌👍
