What To Expect
YehLiu Geopark
Yehliu is a cape on Taiwan’s northern coast best known for Yehliu Geopark, where sea erosion has shaped honeycomb and mushroom rocks such as the iconic Queen’s Head and Dragon’s Head. The area is mostly flat but offers little shade, so sun protection is advised during summer.
Chiufen (Jiufen Old Street)
Feel transported to this former gold-mining mountain town—once built by the Japanese and now a maze of history-rich lanes and alleys. Most of the charming streets are stairways lined with snack stalls and teahouses, and they can get quite crowded. (Tip: If you’d like to experience Jiufen at sunset or dusk, book a departure after 11:00 AM. This will make Jiufen the final stop, giving you time to enjoy the sunset views and evening lights.)

5.00Jack was an extraordinary tour guide who exceeded expectations. He not only went off the beaten path, he accomplished more than we expected. I most strongly recommend this tour. TAKE THIS TOUR WITH JACK. He was punctual and maximized our short time in Taipei, as we awaited joining our cruise. Jack’s knowledge of Taiwan and its history and customs was impressive. I very rarely rate five stars because I am very particular and my husband and I travel broadly. This was a five star experience. Thank you Jack very much.

5.00Our tour guide-Chiao-chiao, was so awesome. She was professional, friendly, knowledgeable, and spoke great English. we had the best day-it was unforgettable-highly recommend. She took lots of pictures and she knew the best spots. We saw so much and we realize now that there was no way we could have done it on our own or on a group tour. Thank you again Chiao-chiao.

5.00We had a wonderful experience touring Taiwan with Richelle, who was incredibly knowledgeable, thoughtful, and attentive throughout the day. She shared great insights about Taiwan’s history and culture, and when rain started pouring, she was fully prepared with umbrellas for our entire family, keeping everyone comfortable and cared for. What truly set Richelle apart was how she went above and beyond for my 83-year-old father. At Yehliu, she arranged a wheelchair and personally pushed him so he could fully enjoy the visit, and at Jiufen she guided us through a lesser-known route to avoid steep stairs and crowds. Her care, local expertise, and flexibility made the entire experience stress-free and memorable. Highly recommended.

5.00We had Junior pick us up from our hotel and take us on our wonderful tour . Junior was friendly , easy going and knowledgable . Was quite flexible with even gave us some extra time in the end. He lived in the US before so English was not a problem at all . Request for Junior if you can . He’s excellent .

5.00Amazing terrific tour with the perfect, knowledgeable and friendly guide Caleb. The incredible geopark by the sea was fabulous, the Shifen Waterfall was beautiful with a short walk across a suspension bridge, and the lantern release is a must-do fun experience. Caleb is a great safe driver in his comfortable luxury Lexus. He also took lots of photos of us with just the right scenes to capture the moment. Thanks Caleb for the fantastic tour.

5.00Wonderful experience w Jack as a guide and driver. Spoke English well. Gave us so much information about the history and geography of the area. We had so much fun. He introduced us to a delicious restaurant in Jiufen with a fabulous view. He knew all the great photo spots. We learned so much about the area. The day flew by. Definitely recommend this tour

5.00Jack was such a wonderful guide! He took us to some amazing spots like Yehliu, Jiufen, Shifen, YinYang Ocean, and even did a lantern setting at Pingxi. He also introduced us to the famous geological formations and the history of Yehliu. We had a delicious lunch at a fantastic spot in Jiufen with a stunning view. We saw the beautiful waterfall at Shifen, and he knew all the best places to snap photos. He was an excellent driver and guide, and he spoke English very well. He shared so much information about the local history and geography, and we learned so much. Even though my husband and I went to college here over 30 years ago, it felt like so much had changed. The day flew by when we were having so much fun! I would definitely recommend Jack and this tour.

5.00We saw a lot and learned a lot during our day with Nicolas Ying. We decided to visit Jiufen, Shifen, and the Yehliu Geopark. All three were terrific in different ways. Nicolas enriched the experience with his knowledge of the history and traditions surrounding each locale. We particularly appreciated learning something about Daoism as we incorrectly assumed Buddhism was the most common religion in Taiwan.
