• Fun at Shifen

  Our guide for this tour was Steven H. Very professional, knowledgeable and efficient. I think it was supposed to be a 4 people group tour in a private car but it ended up being just me and my husband so we had our own private tour. Started out with Shifen Fall. It was very peaceful and picturesque despite the fact it was drizzling (all day). The sky lantern release at Shifen old street was the highlight of our trip. Had much fun writing our messages and taking photos there. The photo stops at Yin Yang Sea & Jinguash 13 ruins and golden water fall were calm and peaceful. Steven managed to guide us while avoiding the big groups of tourists. That was so appreciated. The last part of the tour to Jiufent old street was physically challenging mainly because we had to climb hundreds of steps to explore the area. That’s the charm of the area but my husband and I could have done without the achey sore kegs. I gave this tour a 4 star rating because of it. My husband says he’d have liked to skip that portion of the trip. But Steven was great. He suggested other places we should visit and eat at and informed us about Taiwanese current events.

  Huge shoutout to Jackson and Vincent for being absolutely amazing tour guides! They made our Taipei trip unforgettable—so fun, incredibly knowledgeable, and always thoughtful and considerate throughout the entire experience. We were a group of 8, and they handled everything so smoothly, making it easy and enjoyable for everyone. Jackson also picked a fantastic spot for lunch —so delicious—and the time we spent in the car together was just as fun as the sightseeing. Lots of laughs and great memories all around! We loved visiting the Geo Park and exploring Jiufen, releasing Sky Lanterns such beautiful, memorable spots—and having Jackson and Vincent guide us made the experience even better. They truly went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and having a great time, and it showed every step of the way. We had an absolute blast exploring the city with them! If you’re planning a trip to Taipei, I can’t recommend them enough. You’ll be in the best hands! Btw .. ask Jackson to sing for you while you’re in the car!!!!

  Great experience to see the sky lantern go up the sky with so much preparation from people involved and ink pen and material to get well wishes messages on the lantern before hand. Amazing tour guide, Vincent to help the tour so well organised despite misty weather this morning. Had a great day with a bowl of beef noodles for lunch before travelling back to Taipei. Worth of time to travel in Jiufen and Shifen villages to explore the local amenities. Thank you.

  This tour highlights these serene villages outside of Taipei. The ocean view from the Chongwen district is a must see. Crossing the bridge over the Jilong River is as exhilarating as experiencing the breathtaking Shifen Waterfalls that it leads to. But my favorite part was the Sky Lantern release at the Shifen village in Pingxi district. We send our wishes to the sky while admiring the locals’ way of life and the train passing. All of that was made possible by our wonderful guide CHOULY!!!!!!! She was very patient and attentive to our kids and took care of our every need. Great communication and educational highlights. Comfortable car, safe driving despite the rain. Highly recommended tour with Chouly.

  We took the half day private tour to Jiufen, Shifen Waterfall & Pingxi Sky Lantern. James, our tour guide, was friendly and provided a wonderful experience! As an experienced tour guide, he knew a lot about the history of each location, which he enthusiastically shared with us. He ensured that we had ample time at each destination to receive a great experience, while maintaining to schedule. We did not feel rushed at all. He also ensured that we were dropped off and picked up at the entrance of each location. We could not have asked for a better experience for touring such a beautiful part of Taiwan! Thank you James for ensuring that we had a great time and for capturing memories (pictures and videos) of the day for us!

  Nicolas Ying is one of the best guides we had on our stay in Taipei. He was knowledgeable, enthusiastic about sharing his culture with us and made us feel welcomed. Besides showing us the places that were listed in the itinerary, he immersed us in the local culture by taking us to a tea house where we had the tea ceremony and helped us order local foods. Without him, we wouldn’t be able to experience the different flavors of the local cuisine as we would had been intimidated ordering on our own. In addition, the lantern experience was unique - from picking the colors of the lantern (each color has a meaning), writing the wishes on each side of the lantern, lighting the lantern and releasing. It was a great way to end our trip to Taiwan. Both my husband and I highly recommend the tour and Nicolas Ying.

  Would highly recommend this tour! Richelle was a great guide and stayed right on schedule. She got great pictures of us and doing the private option is the way to go. You get dropped right off at the Jiufen old street (vs walking up a steep hill with larger tour buses). It was a great day!

  Great tour. Our driver James was very knowledgeable, he made it so we avoided the large crowds who were at the sites we visited. Good half day tour if you want to explore outside of Taipei.

  We enjoyed the scenic Shifen waterfall. Shifen Old Street was a fun and unique experience with the sky lanterns. While Jiufen, provided breathtaking views and narrow street markets. Our guide, Henry was knowledgeable and helped make our trip enjoyable.
