Wonderful experience! It's worth the high entrance price for sure if you are a fan of LOTR and appreciate craftsmanship and art. Our tour guide was so great and clearly passionate about the Weta workshop and was able to answer all our questions. Fascinating tour!

Not to be missed! This tour was one of the highlights of my trip to NZ. I am so glad a booked this trip to Weta. I didn't realize that they had made and contributed to so many movies that I have seen in the past. The tour last about an hour and a half. You can't take photos in all the rooms, but it was an experience I would recommend to all ages!

Hubby and I visited the Weta Workshop in Wellington and as a creative person myself, I found it one of the most surprising and enlightening travel experiences I've ever had. The artists at work were so passionate, animated and willing to share their craft with us, to be honest, I was fighting back tears of sheer joy at the end of our tour. So many great ideas to take home and try out! I can't wait to visit Hobbiton and next time we come to Auckland I will definitely sign up for another Weta workshop experience. I highly recommend a Weta Workshop experience to all NZ visitors.

Really inspiring visit especially for my partner who is very creative. Unfortunately timing is everything and productive staff were on breaks so we didn't get to witness them actually working on real projects. None the less a worthwhile visit with much to see and enjoy.

I was blown away by my visit here and I now wonder why it took me so long to go! 🙂. I recommend this place to everyone it is great. Even my mum beat me to go and yesterday I learnt not only has she been but she has been twice. So I might just have to even things up lol🙂. Oh and I live in Auckland so I will be definitely going to the UNLEASHED Experience. I even brought myself a couple of moments of my visit a photo and a cute soft toy...WETA 🙂

We visited Wētā Workshop 15 years ago and the tour was pretty good then. Since then they have done a lot more wonderful work to showcase and have developed the aspects for the work we know them best for - Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit. The video clips with Richard and Tania and with some of the craftspeople who work for Wētā are very good and being able to talk to several of them was a huge bonus.

Awesome experience with a great tour leader Taylor, thank you for being wonderful. Learnt so much about the Weta world and how involved it is in creating, making and giving to the world of Movie's. The time and effort put in to create these things is amazing, let alone the time and effort to put on these creations if you are the actor. Well worth the visit. Thank you for your talent. Absolutely amazing.

Enjoyable visit especially for LOTR fans. Some epic props like “Sting” and the sword of Elendir (both shattered and reforged). Lots of props from other films to see including District 9, Elysium and Avatar. We had the max group number of 16 for our slot and it felt a bit crowded in each room. With the jaunty guide cheering us through, it felt a bit Disney compared to the normal NZ laid back feel.
