Very great experience, so much history to it and behind sight given. Definitely would recommend to anyone visiting. It was amazing to meet William Baker as well who was here from 1957- 1960.

You can't bring a packed lunch. Water only. There are limited toilets, and there is nowhere to buy food. Besides, the tour is very well organized and definitely worth a visit. Audioguide was fantastically well done. Easy to follow if you know English or 10 other languages such as French, German, Asian. However, there are no Scandinavian languages included. We had no problems with the English version.

The outing was cancelled by the tour company when we arrived as the dock at Alcatraz tour. I need a refund of my fee and TripAdvisor makes it difficult to get one!

Made our trip to pier 33 to get our ferry only to be told that it was cancelled due to problems on Alcatraz. Told we would get a refund 3 to 5 days time. Why were we not informed earlier as we are staying a fair distance from the pick up point ?
