Take a guided day trip from Paris to explore Normandy’s historic D-Day sites.
Start at Utah Beach, where American troops first landed, and learn about the strategic planning behind Operation Overlord. Walk along the battle-scarred coastline and hear stories of the soldiers who helped shape history.
Enjoy a pre-arranged Norman-style lunch in a charming port town before heading to Pointe du Hoc. Here, U.S. Army Rangers bravely scaled towering cliffs to capture a key German stronghold. The site remains much as it was, with bomb craters and bunkers overlooking the English Channel.
Next, visit Omaha Beach, where you'll have time to walk along the shore and reflect on one of the war’s fiercest battles.
The day ends at the American Cemetery in Colleville-sur-Mer, where nearly 10,000 soldiers are laid to rest. Stroll through the peaceful grounds and take in the powerful tribute to their sacrifice.
This immersive tour offers a moving and unforgettable look at the events of D-Day.

Musee du Debarquement Utah Beach
You’ll join your expert guide in Paris aboard a comfortable, private coach. On the way to Normandy, learn the details of the Allied preparations for D-Day, the largest amphibious assault in history. Your guide, a fluent English-speaker, will stay with you throughout the tour to tell the story of the operation and answer questions from history buffs and curious minds. On Utah Beach, your first stop, the Allies quickly defeated the German forces. You’ll visit an extraordinary D-Day museum housed in an old German bunker on the landing beach itself. The collection here brings home both the scale and the personal sacrifice involved in the operation, with an original B-26 airplane on display along with collections of soldiers’ letters home.
Utah Beach
Utah Beach was the westernmost landing site on D-Day and played a crucial role in the success of the Allied invasion. Unlike Omaha Beach, the landings here were met with lighter resistance, allowing troops to move inland more quickly and secure vital strategic positions. Standing on Utah Beach today, with its vast stretch of sand and open coastline, gives a powerful sense of the scale of the operation and the courage of the soldiers who fought there. The site remains a deeply significant place to reflect on the challenges of D-Day and the determination that led to the liberation of Europe.

The tour was curated perfectly and our guide, Thelma, couldn’t have been more knowledgeable or passionate about what occurred on D-Day and those involved. Her presentation was in depth, entertaining and moving.

The tour guide, Thelma was excellent. She was extremely knowledgeable about Paris and Normandy. She was entertaining as well. I wish that I could have her as a tour guide for other tours in the future.

Our day with Thelma, aka the Queen, and driver Marco was an epic tour of Normandy. So thankful for her deep knowledge and appreciation of history. She’s funny and really enjoys sharing this deeply consequential history. Highly recommend. The stops were just enough time to see everything you’d want to see. More time at the cemetery than I expected, very solemn and moving. Lunch was about what you’d expect from an included lunch, but did the job to fuel the tour.

I learned a lot on this tour, not just about D-Day itself, but also about the historical context leading up to the second World War and the events of D-Day. Ash was an excellent guide, and presented a great deal of complex information in a clear, comprehensive, engaging, and respectful way. Ash's explanations, combined with the tour itinerary itself, took us on a powerful chronological and emotional journey that I won't forget. Our driver, Marco, was also excellent, and the bus was comfortable; and the locations we visited, from the museum and memorial sites to the lunch restaurant and rest stops, were all top-notch - interesting, well-organized, and clean. We were traveling in January, so the sites we visited were not crowded; most of the time, ours was the only tour bus there. I highly recommend visiting in the off season, especially if you don't mind cooler weather and the possibility of fog and/or rain.

I booked the Normandy guided tour with City Wonders and John, an American leaving in Paris was our tour guide. It was truly an amazing and humbling experience. John was excellent in his knowledge of the area and the history of Normandy as it relates to both WWI and WWII . John skillfully explained every detail while giving us the tour and everything was very well organized and on time. He did everything that was promised on the tour and John made the tour most enjoyable. I would definitely recommend this tour with John to everyone. It was an amazing day and I was glad I had the opportunity to go on this Normandy guided tour with John as my tour guide. Thank you John for making it a fun, amazing and en enjoyable day! This humbling experience will forever be etched in my memory. Thank you! Ron Pierre

I was familiar with all of the events surrounding DDay but John added so much More depth. His background on people and places filled in many gaps in my knowledge. It was obvious he had fully researched the topic and loved presenting that information. A friendly suggestion would be that when he has an older group he needs to slow down his steps.

John is very passionate about history and knowledgeable about Normandy. The food at the pre-arranged lunch was sub par. We heard a whole lot about his wife-not totally necessary. The bus driver was not helpful at all. Usually the bus driver helps participants on and off the bus. That would have been nice.
