Chateau de Chambord
From Paris, you’ll head first to Chambord Castle. Disney fans will find this castle’s turrets familiar; it was the inspiration for the castle in ‘Beauty and the Beast’. Though originally conceived as a royal hunting lodge, it was built to a scale that must be seen to be believed. You’ll learn all about the castle’s captivating history from your guide, before getting your own chance to explore. Climb a staircase supposedly designed by Da Vinci; enjoy spectacular turret-framed rooftop views; glimpse wild deer around the grounds; and work up an appetite for the next stop.

My 2nd visit to Loire Valley. Love castles and experience. It could have been much better if the tour guide, Riti, showed up to support the group. Instead she was abrasive and seemed irritated with the group. Certainly not a warm & sensitive approach. I only use Viator for tours when traveling. This was disappointing.

Very happy I went with this tour. Was lucky as the weather was the nicest it had been for several days. Was an early start and the meeting point is a little tricky as there’s currently road works all around the catacombs entrance (which they didn’t warn about). Once on the bus though our guide did a great job of welcoming and talking through the days plan. Time for a sleep on the way down, once in the area lots of info and details. It’s a beautiful part of the country. The castles, lunch stop in Blois and wine tasting were all a great experience. All in all it was a great and scenic day out.

Our guide Reti was very professional. She provided clear and detailed history of France relevant to the castles. This increased my knowledge and interest in French history. The fee is reasonable (actually cheaper!) considering that it would be more expensive if the transportation (train tickets) and entry tickets to the castles were bought myself. Highly recommend!

Tour not worth the money or the time. I enjoyed our guide but not the experience as a whole. Do not go if it is your first time in paris. This takes the whole day out of Paris is not worth it. In my opinion you are better off going to versailles or disney world for a day long activity closer to Paris. Th whole itinerary was chatea chamboard then Blois for lunch then Chateau Chenonceau and the wine tasting was the cheapest Loire valley wine tasting on site at chateau chenonceau. The whole experience probably costs the company €50 and they charge over triple that price to the consumer. It was my second time in Loire Valley and visiting these castles. With what we spent on the tour I wish we took 2 days and did it ourselves. I now know to never book or recommend this tour again. The admission is paid for the castles but no food is paid for woth the cost of the activity. The tour company should have brought croissant for everyone for breakfast or made a quick stop somewhere. For lunch it was not enough time to walk around Blois and have lunch. It was only enough time to eat a sit down lunch. I was the most dissappointed in the wine tasting. The Loire valley has so many wines it is known for and we tasted the most basic cheap wines money could buy. The wine tasting made me realize how inexpensive this tour really is and how much the whole experience is a waste of money. 0/10 recommend. OR the price should be much less. If dinner or lunch was included the price might be worth it, but no food was included and the stops felt rushed. I like to explore and take my time when visiting a chateau.

It was good, for those who travel in the winte: the first castle might be cold, so bring warm clothes! The guide Riti was very good at explaining the history of castles!

We had the best excursion, our Gide tour was very good at telling the stories of the castles and she was very punctual and said funny jokes. The atmosphere was very pleasant as well, the time designated to every activity was timed perfectly.

The trip to the castles was a lot of fun and a great change of pace from Paris. Dan was very friendly and informative and kept us entertained the entire day. The wine tasting is a nice touch as well and overall I would definitely recommend this day trip.

The perfect day trip from Paris to explore the beautiful Loire region - castles, wine, medieval history. Our guide Daniel was supportive, conscientious, well-natured, and explained all of the history of the region, each castle/city very well. It's an early start, so bring water and snacks, and comfortable walking shoes! Chambord and Chenonceau were very different from each other, both striking and rich in history. Stopping in Bloise for lunch in the off season, not many spots were open - but the restaurant we went was delicious!
