We were picked up at our hotel on time. Top organized, we were allowed to learn a lot about keeping and rearing the elephants. Even the food we could prepare for the animals. After that we were allowed to spend a lot of time with the elephants, including washing ;). Thanks again, we really enjoyed it!

Moderately appreciated this excursion because there are many tourists to the chain. However our guide was really funny and, very inviting to take pictures. With elephants. We enjoyed this and the bath but tjrs in a tourist speed little note appreciated because the provider drops us off at the airport as requested but. A slight lack of communication, as our suitcases were transferred to another vehicle. Everything is good, which ends well... TripAdvisor s organization is top as well as quick answers and in French I recommend this app.

A really magical experience - directly feeding and bathing the elephants was really special, and the sanctuary is beautifully clean and organised. Lunch was delicious and our guide was super knowledgeable.

The Ran-Tong elephant sanctuary was a wonderful and moving experience. We were collected from our hotel in Chiang Mai (the driver was late due to traffic) and proceeded to collect another ten visitors from around the city. After about an hours drive we reached Ran-Tong and were quickly organised with appropriate clothing and footwear. We were given a informative and humorous lecture on safety and “elephant etiquette” and some facts about the elephants under Ran-Tong’s care. We were then ladened with cut up pumpkin and taken out to meet the ellies. It was a wonderful morning walking amongst these gentle beasts, patting and feeding them and finally seeing them bathe and dousing them with buckets of water, everyone, including the elephants has an enjoyable time. It was all over too quickly and we were given soap, towels and directed to showers after which it was our turn to eat and we were served some delicious fruit and Pad Thai. Delivery back to our hotels ended a very memorable day. Whilst I do not know how these organisations are run, I can only say that all the staff are caring and love their charges, the atmosphere at Ran-Tong is very relaxed and the elephants are free to wander in and out of the nearby forest freely.

Worst driving experience I have had. The driver drove extremely unsafely at very high speed both too and from the park, dangerously over and undertaking all other cars and bikes. This was made worse as many of the seatbelts did not work in this old “air conditioned” van. Also pick up and drop off locations were spread out throughout the city and took well over an hour before we set of to the park from chiang mai. Elephants park was fine, though the larger elephants got a little out of control at feeding time. Guide and food were ok.

That's great. The elephants seem happy and content there and although you have direct contact, I did not have the impression that they are forced into something or are stressed. Seven was a great guide and the food afterwards was really good too. Unconditional recommendation.

This was an amazing experience! The elephants looked genuinely happy and well cared for. The staff was incredibly friendly. The sanctuary provides everything you need to change (including hats), and you can shower afterward and enjoy a delicious, homemade meal.
