I’ve never seen such a fantastic scenery. I will be falling in love with Chiangmai.
We can confidently recommend this tour to many tourists saying they are too bored to see more temples because this tour is the perfect chance to explore the totally different temple from others. You will visit a must-see temple in Chiang Mai and the unique temple in Chiangmai which make you experience ancient Lanna culture.
Without a doubt the nighttime is definitely the best time to visit as you can enjoy the glorious beauty of the sacred temple and admirable night city view in the peaceful atmosphere without the usual crowds.
Infants and small children can ride in a pram or stroller

Wat Umong
Depending on your accommodation location, you will be picked up between 5:00 and 5:30 PM, or between 5:40 and 6:10 PM. (Starting from December 1, 2024, pickup times will be moved 30 minutes earlier) Visit Wat Umong. This temple set in the forest is completely different from other typical temples, this one is built inside a tunnel. Enter the tunnels of Wat Umong and see the impressive Buddha images. It doesn’t matter what religion you have. When you go inside the tunnel, it whispers to you the secrets of this world and the old history of this temple built in 1297.
Wat Phra That Doi Suthep
Climb a staircase of 306 steps leading to Doi Suthep temple. This staircase leading to the site is adorned with the impressive body of the mythical dragon-headed serpent, or Naga, snaking its way down 306 steps. This is definitely the best way to approach the temple but there is also a funicular railway if you are less steady on your feet. Reaching the top, admire the Lanna-style golden pagoda covered with engraved gold plates, flanked by four ornamental umbrellas and a fantastic Night city view from the mountain. Visiting these sites at night gives you an unforgettable memory of Chiang Mai. * Polite clothes such as trousers or a long skirt should be worn for the visit to temple

Matt was a good host and walked us to the two temples. Great photos of Doi Suthep and city view in the evening. It's 3-hours so there's not a big time commitment. Note, by the time we got up to the mountain top, it's after sunset.

Incredible temples, driver was friendly. The drive up to Doi Suthep was very curvy so maybe bring some meds if needed. The view from the temple was incredible, especially seeing the city at night. Everyone staying in Chiang Mai should experience this. 10/10!

Touring the temples in the evening and at night provides a different atmosphere and vibe to the whole experience. Our tour guide Chris was knowledgeable and kind. He gave us a lot of details about the locations that we saw, showed all the different parts of the temples, and warned us about the bats at Wat Umong, and even took pictures for us at various locations. Chris was even nice enough to offer a ride to 2 international tourists stranded by their own tour bus, and it was already past 8pm when the temple closed and no taxi would come up the mountain. At the end of the tour, he offered to drop us off at our hotel or the Sunday night market, a lot of us chose the night market option as it was Sunday.

Really great experience. Best time of day to see Doi Suthep. Absolutely beautiful views and the Pagoda lit up had people back home oooohing and awwing over my instagram. Absolutely wonderful tour guide. Knowledgeable and so nice. Picked me up at my hotel and then dropped me off at the Sunday night market at my request. Tour long enough to see what I wanted to see but not so long as to be exhausting

This was an excellent interactive day from the start. Paul our guide spoke clearly and was informative. Loved the ability to actually walk up the sticky waterfall and then later experience seeing and being with the elephants in their habitat and not in a zoo. We went with our two teenage children 15 and 17 and both loved it as well.

Very good value to take this activity. Learned a lot of Thai Buddhist history and current trend. We did not climb to top of Doi Suthep temple by foot, but cable car let us go top with ease and enjoyed spectacular view. Strongly recommended to any tourists to Chiang Mai.

Amazing experience. Expertly executed by a very knowledgeable guide. You can for paying 20 B. and take the cable car so as to avoid climbing the 300 steps.

This tour was great, not too much of a time commitment but still long enough to explore each site a while, take in the views, and take some photos. After going to Wat Phra That Doi Suthep during the day (not part of this tour), it was really a neat experience to return at night - very different. And Wat Umong was really interesting and beautiful as well. Our guide gave us some info about each site - I do think it could have been nice if he gave more info during the drive instead, but it was all adequate. Overall I'd recommend this tour if you are interested in temples! 😃
