Avignon
Come and enjoy a unique gastronomic experience in the majestic city of Avignon! In the heart of Provence, Avignon is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful jewels in the south of France, with its exceptional historical center, its renowned theatre festival and, of course, its delicious Provençal cuisine: aromatic herbs, tomatoes, olive oil, a good glass of Côte du Rhône and sun-ripened fruit. Possible tastings may change according to the season and availabilities of our partners. Let our local food expert walk you through the historic streets of this magnificent "City of the Popes", stopping at its delicious shops, tasting Rhône Valley wine and local specialties.
Inside the local covered market, where the locals run their errands and buy fresh ingredients to cook at home, you will discover the pillars of Provençal cuisine: local olive oil and fresh vegetables, used to prepare the famous tapenade. Here you will also try a slice of the famous pissaladière, a tasty and juicy onion tart with anchovies and olives. One of the most beloved snacks in town (lunch only)

Nastassja was delightful! Truly one of the friendliest people we met in all of France. She went out of her way to give us a great tour of even more than just the places we stopped for food. She even added some French fries to one of the stops so we could dip them in the wonderful cheeses we tried which we had never thought of, but will surely add to our own orders in the future. Nastassja also went above and beyond to call a separate restaurant (not related to the food tour) who had cancelled our reservation the day prior. She was able to secure us another reservation at that restaurant the next day. We could just tell that Nastassja wanted nothing more than for my wife and I to enjoy our entire trip, even beyond the food tour which was excellent! Thank you so much for making Avignon friendly and welcoming!

We had a fantastic time on our Avignon food tour and can’t recommend it enough. Our guide, Nastassja, was warm, knowledgeable, and so easy to talk to. I’m pregnant, and she was incredibly thoughtful in making sure accommodations were available at each stop, which we truly appreciated. It’s clear she knows the local food scene and the people behind it on a personal level, which made the experience feel authentic and special. We enjoyed olives and dips, local breads with regional olive oil and balsamic, salads, local cheeses, French fries, French sweets, and finished with chocolate mousse and lemon meringue tart—all while exploring the beautiful streets of Avignon. She also generously shared restaurant recommendations and even helped us with a dinner reservation. A highlight of our trip and a must-do experience in Avignon!

My sister and I had an amazing time on our tour with Zahra! Despite the intense winds that day she made sure we still had a great experience. On our way to each stop Zahra shared the history of Avignon and explained the sights we were seeing, we learned so much! On top of the interesting stories, the food we had was delicious and unique. Zahra showed us a glimpse of life in Avignon and was absolutely a highlight of our trip.

Zahra our guide had great local knowledge not only about the sites but the food and wine as well. A good tour of the city mixed with some tasty food and wine stops. She also provided good options for other visits both in Avignon and Paris.

This tour was much, much more than food.we spent several wonderful hours with Zahra, who filled us with not only the culinary highlights of Avignon, but gave us a feel for the history of the city, its culture and art and its people. We were fortunate enough to have her to ourselves that day, and this was the type of intimate visit that made our visit to Avignon and Provence memorable.

A wonderful experience. A great crash course on food specialities of the Provence region and the history of Avignon. Zahra made the tour very fun with anecdotes and fun facts. We got to taste a lot of food typical of the region and is a great way to get a feel of the city and what it has to offer prior to exploring on one’s own.

Perfect tour for a family visit. I was with my mother and brothers, we started the day trying typical sweets, oils, olives, assorted breads, Provencal goat cheese and typical pastries. Zahra and her companions adapted the tour to our needs. All this while we were being introduced to the city and its history. Quality food and tour at a very reasonable price. Highly recommended.
