Blair our tour guide was excellent. He was patient and friendly. He was very thorough with his information and tour talks. 10/10 The only thing wrong with Blair was he was from New Zealand.🤣 Aussie Aussie Aussie oi oi oi All jokes aside, he's a good bloke and it was a great tour.

I had a really good experience with K’gari explorers tour! My guide Dean was super nice and friendly and told is a bunch of stop about the island. I fell ill the second day and he was very helpful and arranged so that I could stay in my room until we left. That was really nice of him.

Pirate Pete was an amazing tour guide. He had a cheery and relaxed attitude plus gave us beautiful spiels about local First Nation stories as well as the local flora and fauna. Highly recommend for a wonderful taste of K'gari island.

My wife and I did the K’Gari Explorer 2 day 1 night tour with Hayden as our guide. Hayden was great - clearly very knowledgable about the island and its past, particularly how it was formed. He was enthusiastic and happy to answer questions across the 2 days. The island itself is beautiful and some of the locations are truly unique - particularly Lake Wabby which is spectacular. The tour itself is very well organised and easy. Being on the buses, we didn’t need to worry about how to get around or which sites to see. That said, at the beginning and the end (coming to and from the island from Hervey Bay) there is a fair bit of waiting around mainly dictated by ferry times. The stops covered all of the key attractions of the island. The lakes and Eli Creek were amazing. The champagne pools are very crowded and a bit underwhelming, but we did go at low tide. Would suggest that the time spent going to the resort for lunch on day 1 could have been better spent exploring the island, given we returned there in the evening. The content of the tour commentary (which Hayden delivered excellently) was also perhaps a little one-note. It is very focused on the geology and formation of the sand island. This is very interesting and a lot of what makes the island so unique but was probably 90% of the commentary across two days and became a little repetitive. Contrast this to the human history of the island (one 5 minute section about the logging industry), no mention of the wildlife on the island (although we did happen across some dingos) and 0 mention of the Indigenous people who have lived there for thousands of years, except to say that K’Gari is their name for the island. I think some of this should be covered. The resort where you stay overnight is nice. Clean rooms, nice pool. The food was average and the vegetarian options were very limited, but it was a nice atmosphere at the end of a long day. Overall we really enjoyed our trip, and are glad we chose this tour over some of the other 4x4 tours which had a much younger crowd.
