Jimmy has worked in the Marlborough wine industry for 20 years in a variety of roles including work in viticulture,cellar, sales and as a wine tutor. He loves the region and has a strong knowledge of all aspects of the business. Through industry contacts he is able to help you look behind the label and discover the delights of this beautiful wine region.

Owned by a renowned producer from Sancerre this boutique tasting room is housed in an historic colonial Kauri timbered church overlooking their organic vineyards which we will drive through on route
Rock Ferry Wines
A delightful organic vineyard surrounding a beautiful tasting room and restaurant sitting amongst the vines. Tasting fee provided, lunch at guests cost

4.00A well organised tour. Door to door. Jimmy was very knowledgeable and easy company. The trip offered a good selection of wine tastings and a lovely spot was chosen for lunch. Overall a very good trip.

5.00Jimmy was amazing!! Very knowledgeable and we really enjoyed the company and the tour. Great local wineries that were all very friendly and accommodating to our preferences. He also stopped at Makana so we could get some of the world famous chocolates. We highly recommend this tour.

5.00Wow - what can I say, Jimmy was so engaging, knowledgeable and just a joy to be around! Being in the wine industry, I struggle to find a wine tour that finds just the right balance between knowledge of the wine region and just being pleasant and fun. Jimmy covers it all! His selection of wineries, based on our tastes, was excellent (You know which was our favorite Jimmy!). What a lovely afternoon we spent together - hope to do it again in the future! Thank you Jimmy for a memorable afternoon!

5.00My husband and I had a fantastic day with Jimmy. We were staying in Picton and he very graciously came here to get us! He was a great host, telling us about the area and the wine history of Marlborough. As mentioned in other reviews, everyone at the wineries knew Jimmy, so it felt like we were getting a personal touch. I think our favorite winery was Clos Henri-we lucked out with timing and were the only ones there during our tasting, the wines were delicious, and the setting just so picturesque. We had lunch at Wairau River's number 11 restaurant which was fantastic, with beautiful views. We bought at least one bottle from each winery. Highly recommended, spend the bit of extra cash and ditch the group vans and bikes :)

5.00My wife & I spent a marvellous day touring Marlborough vineyards with Jimmy. While I'm no wine expert, I have been a massive fan of Marlborough wines for many years and was really looking forward to visiting their home. As I already knew a bit about wine making in the area and had enjoyed wines from many of the vineyards, I wanted a tour that would be tailored to my tastes, and a guide with real knowledge of the local industry who would help me learn more about wine-making in the area. Jimmy fitted the bill perfectly. Even before the tour he was very helpful as we exchanged emails about where to visit, and NZ wines in general. On the day he selected a great range of vineyards to visit, helping me find some new ones I hadn't come across. Jimmy was great company and very easy to get on with. His deep knowledge of Marlborough winemaking and it's history really came across as he escorted us round. All in all I would unreservedly recommend Jimmy.
