5.00OMG! I wasn’t sure if this was going to be worth the money and it went beyond all expectations. The price included free beverages and a lovely hot buffet with many food options. The set is spectacular and when you enter the hobbit holes there are real wood fires burning. Absolutely incredible. Worth the investment.

5.00Great experience! The bus was comfortable, our driver Tako shared lots of interesting information about NZ on the way down, and the provided water and cookie were a nice touch. Hobbiton is an extremely well-run operation. Despite many other tour groups on site, we were spaced well and didn’t cross paths much if at all. The buffet lunch was tasty (I had low expectations) and had options for all dietary restrictions. Our tour guide Hannah was also lovely! Would recommend this for both LOTR fans and non-fans. A highlight of our trip so far!

5.00You may be a little disappointed about most of the buildings being a facade but the last two make it worthwhile. If you are a fan of the movies, this is well worth the adventure. Lots of behind the scenes information.

5.00Hobbiton is so amazing, I can’t believe the level of detail and the knowledge of the guides. This was truly wonderful from start to finish. So amazing to get to explore the actual set, and then to end it with some tasty ale and a feast at the Green Dragon. Absolutely incredible experience, so very glad we did this.

5.00This tour is great if you don’t want the hassle of driving and would like to know a little more about NZ along the way. Nicky was our driver and gave great commentary on the journey eh there and I learnt a few new things along the way. As a big LoTR fan the hobbiton tour is great although it can feel a little rushed to get you from start to finish.

5.00This included the tour, a bus ride to and from Auckland city for the tour; a free green dragon drink and a full all you can eat buffet at the end, with the option to purchase more of the alcohol made just for this place. The gift shop is busy but there are multiple chances to pick something up. Bus driver was incredibly knowledgeable and kept us informed with cool non LOTR stuff on the way up, allowing us the space to rest on the way back. The guide at Hobbiton Noelle was also incredibly knowledgeable and engaging. If you have never done this tour and are a fan, you owe yourself doing it at least once. Our tip for the bus pick up and drop off is that the Great Sights folks will be at a table near one of the numbered terminals (ours was one). They even gave us a bottle of water and a snack for the ride.

5.00Hobbiton was exceptional. Bus ride from Auckland made it an easy day. Lana was a great Hobbiton guide. The tour was a bit large (@40) so sometimes difficult to hear.
