Watarrka National Park
The main attraction of Watarrka is undoubtedly Kings Canyon – a humungous gorge enclosed by sheer rock walls hundreds of metres high. Offering a welcome escape from the dry desert heat, this site’s deep gullies and hidden rockpools provide shelter to more than 600 species of native plants and animals. Your guide will point these out on a guided trek that takes in the canyon’s most famous sites – the Lost City, Garden of Eden, Amphitheatre and North and South Walls. Then it’s lunch, rest, and back to Alice for farewells.

Our 3-day tour with Adventure Tour was absolutely amazing and a lot of fun. Not only did the tour itself have so much to offer, but everything was perfectly organized and ran smoothly from start to finish. We were a great group and had an incredible time together. A special thanks goes to our cool and humorous tour guide Greg, who guided us through the stunning landscapes right from the beginning. During the fascinating hikes, he shared a lot of interesting information about nature and the history of the Aboriginal people. We can definitely recommend this tour and would do it again anytime!

Very good guiding with Lorrie trough our 4 days trip around Uluru and Kings Canyon. Nature is just wonderful! Just consider the high temperatures during summer. Very hard to find sleep with temperatures higher than 30 degrees.

The trip plan was very nice and promising; however, the extreme temperatures of 41–43°C made it unsuitable for older participants over the age of 70. We had to quit after one day—not because of fitness levels, but due to the intolerable heat. The hike can realistically only be done very early in the morning or after 5:00 pm in the evening under such conditions. Our guide, Greg, was very caring and well organized. He arranged for us to return to Alice Springs by bus the following day, which we greatly appreciated.

The tour was well organized. It was extremely hot but also very nice. At Katja Tuta we unfortunately spent too little time. According to our guide, it was too hot and therefore unreasonable. The group was too big with 31 participants, but luckily they were all great people. Only 1 guide for such a large group is definitely too little!

We had a beautiful tour with an excellent tour guide, who shared with us stories and lots of laughs. Thank you Wayne! It is summer and the heat was incredible, yet thanks to early morning starts we could do all the hikes. We were lucky to have had a rather small group with beautiful and great people.

You will do and see all sorts of amazing things. The guides are very knowledgeable and know exactly what to do, where to go etc. If you want to see Uluru and a few other sites similar to Uluru, then this is the trip to do. However, it is not 'glamping'. Accommodation is very basic. If this is a problem for you - don't go.

This was an amazing experience and one I would highly recommend. The tour was very well organised and our guide Lorrie was exceptional in every way. Uluṟu and Kata Tjuṯa are stunning but Kings Canyon is breathtaking- definitely do the rim walk. It is so worth it. We met the nicest people in our group and there was a lot of camaraderie around the camp fire. We were sad when the trip came to an end.

Great tour overall. Long bus journey from Alice Springs broken up with many stops for toilet and snacks. Pick up also from Yulara airport. We were a bit like teachers on a school trip as we were in our 60’s and everyone else much younger. Food very good and lots of snacks provided. Fantastic experience seeing Uluru both at sunset and sun rise. We camped in tents which are very hot but less bugs than those who slept outdoors in swags. Early morning starts were welcome as we hit a heat wave. Guide Asha was fantastic at giving advice and reminding everyone to drink plenty due to extreme heat of 40-42 degrees. She worked hard during the trip driving, cooking and guiding. Next day moved on to king’s canyon for final hike. All hikes spectacular views. You do need a reasonable level of fitness. Be able to walk for 3-4 hours and climb stairs for about 30 mins with couple of breaks. We were able to manage the hikes comfortably (unlike some of the younger members of the group). Like all groups you get a few idiots and a few princesses but Asha handled this so well. Overall a great group of people from all over the world who were very considerate and respectful. Would definitely recommend the company and tour. Food plentiful. Only critique would be the cost - a bit steep for some travellers on a budget
