Come hungry, there was plenty of food to be had along the tour! We really enjoyed this and appreciated the end time being a little bit earlier than some of the other Tampa food tours.

It was fine. The guides were nice. The food we had was very good. We do a lot of food tours when we travel. This was the only food tour I've ever done where I've left hungry. I think more stops or larger portions if the stops are limited. We had a private tour as a group of 9 traveling together for a work event. I really don't mind paying for a good tour, but I can't imagine that we had more than 40.00 worth of food. Everyone said they left hungry.

The tour was fantastic. Jacob was an excellent guide offering history and touring tips as we sampled multiple foods. He easily accommodated our large family group allowing time for questions and conversation.

My husband and I love to do food tours when visiting new cities. Secret Food Tours recently added a walking food tour in Tampa so we took advantage of it while we were there. The tour focused on the Ybor City district of Tampa, which as we learned has a rich cultural history influenced by migration from Cuba and the Mediterranean region of Europe. Ybor City is being revived by development, yet seems to be maintaining much of its original character. Lawrence Eugene, who was well versed in the history of the area, was our tour guide. We started at a restaurant for alligator tacos, then to a Greek restaurant for a lemon, chicken, rice soup. Our third stop was to a funky bar/restaurant for a deviled crabcake, and then for a Cuban sandwich. We finished off the tour with a dip of ice cream at May Day’s. In between stops, Eugene took us to see cigars being freshly wrapped, pointed out historical buildings and their significance, and described the folklore about the pirate, Jose Gaspar and his connection to the current Gasparilla parade. Overall, we had a wonderful time!! The only thing missing was a visit to the La Segunda bakery where the Cuban sandwich roll is created. Maybe next time!

Nice to get a good sampling of food along with the history of the area - much of which I didn't know. Easy walk in a nice historic area.
