Remarkable Rocks
Just 20 minutes drive, perched above the sea in Flinders Chase National Park, the impressive Remarkable Rocks form what appear to be a cluster of precariously balanced granite boulders. This stunning work of nature has been shaped by the erosive forces of wind, sea spray and rain over some 500 million years. The golden orange lichen covering some of the rocks offers visitors wonderful photo opportunities at different times of the day. Interpretation signs share the story of how these intriguing rocks were formed. There is a viewing platform providing a vantage point for disabled access. The area also provides an excellent vantage point for viewing the photogenic Casuarina Islets.
Admirals Arch
Take a 5 minute drive to Admirals Arch, a natural rock arch created by amazing forces of nature. It's situated within Flinders Chase National Park on Kangaroo Island. You can access the boardwalk around the cliff face which leads to a viewing platform overlooking the arch. The arch is sculpted by weathering and erosion from the sea over thousands of years. To reach the arch there is a purpose-built boardwalk, it’s steep with steps at the end that take you to see the arch itself. If you can’t make it down to the arch, the scenery along the way is still well worth a journey along the boardwalk. Fur-seals often play among the rocks. These dark brown seals feed at sea but return to land to rest and breed. In summer, each of the large males establishes a territory with a number of females. You can often see Fur-seal pups playing near the rock pools beneath the arch.
Clifford's Honey Farm
Have a guided tour of the honey farm and enjoy tasting the delicious honey. Indulge in a tasting of honey drinks to finish off the perfect afternoon.

In November, 2025, I took an all-inclusive, two-day small-group Kangaroo Island tour guided by Liz from "Discover Adelaide and Beyond." This was an unforgettable adventure, and without exaggeration, one of the best tour experiences I’ve had in over 50 years of touring. Our guide was friendly, cheerful, knowledgeable, and a truly delightful person. Liz provided seamless organization, an incredible wealth of local knowledge, impeccable pacing, and an overall fabulous time. One important logistical aspect that impressed me tremendously was that Discover Adelaide and Beyond offered the only tour I found that began and ended in Adelaide. I’m not sure how other companies expect visitors to get from Adelaide to the Sealink Ferry Terminal at Cape Jervis 110 kilometers (68 miles) away, but apparently they expected me to figure that part out. Instead, Liz picked me up and returned me to my hotel in a clean and comfortable vehicle. The drive from Adelaide to Cape Jervis was pleasant and informative, after which we took the Sealink ferry to the island. We began our KI adventure by visiting the historic Frenchman’s Rock in Penneshaw. After that, we learned the history of lighthouses on the island. I got some spectacular seascape photos at the Cape Willoughby Lighthouse. Lunch included a tasting flight and a delicious meat pie at False Cape Winery. We visited the Emu Ridge Eucalyptus Distillery and took a guided beach walk at the Seal Bay Conservation Park. Watching a pair of baby sea lions happily playing just a few feet away (with an alert mama close by) was a memorable experience. As a wildlife photographer, I appreciated how Liz expertly blended wildlife encounters with stunning scenery. Supported by her local knowledge, I got some amazing images of colorful native birds, shy koalas, kangaroos, emus, sea lions, and more. After a day of incredible sights, we checked into a comfortable oceanfront hotel and enjoyed a great dinner accompanied by a lovely South Australia wine, then rested and recharged for the next day's adventures. After a hearty breakfast at the hotel the next morning, we visited Little Sahara, where we had an exciting 4x4 ride over sand dunes and through huge gumtrees to see koalas in the wild. A picnic on a spectacular beach in Hanson Bay was a great way to enjoy a midday break. We then drove to the western part of the island to Flinders Chase National Park, which provided an awe inspiring landscape of rugged coastlines and unique geological formations. The Remarkable Rocks were breathtaking, with these ancient granite formations glowing in the sunlight. Next, we visited Admiral's Arch, where the rock archway provided a dramatic backdrop for photographing the New Zealand fur seal colony. We visited a wildlife sanctuary where we got up close and personal with a couple of adorable baby kangaroos, an emu, and other native animals, providing even more opportunities for great photos. We stopped at a local honey farm for a taste of island honey and mead, while learning about KI’s unique Liguran bees. Before heading back to the ferry, we had a lovely dinner at the Penneshaw Pub in the charming town of Kingscote. Liz’s excellent planning ensured that we had time to relax and reflect on the day's incredible experiences. The return ferry ride and journey back to Adelaide was smooth and comfortable. An expert on this part of South Australia, Liz provided interesting and sometimes hilarious commentary. From seeing kangaroos, koalas, and sea lions up close to exploring dramatic coastal landscapes, this tour provided a perfect balance of guided experiences and the freedom to soak in the variety and natural beauty of this island. The logistics and organization were managed flawlessly, making this an effortless, stress-free experience. Discover Adelaide and Beyond provided a first-class Kangaroo Island experience. The two-day tour was perfectly paced, allowing us to see the best of what the island had to offer without feeling rushed. The combination of wildlife viewing, stunning natural landscapes, and local flavor was truly exceptional. Our guide was knowledgeable, friendly, and made the trip even more enjoyable with her insights and passion for South Australia. This is an exceptional, highly recommended two-day Kangaroo Island tour experience for anyone visiting South Australia.

My husband and I have recently enjoyed Liz's amazing 2 day tour of Kangaroo Island. It was everything we hoped for, and more! We loved the smooth flow from one experience to the next, yet never feeling rushed. Experiences were informative, rich, fun, sometimes rather adventurous, and sometimes delicious! It's hard to pick a highlight or two, but up there was our dune buggy ride/koala spotting at Little Sahara, watching up close and learning about the sea lions and Remarkable Rocks. Liz has collated a superb itinerary that provides an incredibly enjoyable, memorable and fun-packed adventure. We can't recommend this tour highly enough!!

This was an excellent tour. Very well organised and lots of things to see and do. The wildlife on this Kangaroo Island tour is like no where else I have been. It was also very quiet, there were hardly any other people there. This made for a tranquil 2 days. It was great because we didn't need to worry about anything. Liz had arranged everything and we could just relax for the 2 days. It was also great not needing to drive because Kangaroo Island was surprisingly large and there are long driving distances between the sights. This is something you must do at least once in your life!

An amazing 2-day experience with a wonderful tour guide in Liz and 2 other very friendly clients. Liz demonstrated what is required to be an excellent Tour Guide and runs a very professional tour from collection at appointed time from Adelaide hotel, an unhurried but time efficient tour of Kangaroo Island to delivery back to my appointed hotel in Adelaide after 2 WONDERFUL and informative days on this incredibility diverse island. Liz made the experience very memorable. She was very informed about all the natural features of Kangaroo Island and introduced us to owners of companies where we learnt how Eucalyptus oil is distilled from the thin leafed Mallee Trees, how useful the introduced Ligurian bees are for honey production and protecting them as it is a sanctuary for the only Ligurian bee population in the world. However, as informative these side tours were nothing compared to the majestic scenery of Kangaroo Island. The coastline is wild and rugged with huge waves pounding the rocks at the bottom of cliffs on the shoreline. By contrast, the different bays, Liz drove us into have the clearest turquoise waters. The amazing Kangaroo Island coastline is protected by the Cape Willoughby Lighthouse. The tour of the lighthouse and view from the top gave prospective of how valuable the light is to seafarers. Liz gave us many opportunities to view the wildlife on Kangaroo Island, Sea lions and fur seals basking on the dazzling white sand in Seal Bay, echidnas waddling across the road, stopping to see koalas in their natural setting when riding in a dune buggy on the way to conquer the amazing sand dunes in aptly named Little Sahara, Cape Barren Geese finding food for their chicks beside the road. I was concerned about how Kangaroo Island would look after the 2020 devastating bushfires, but Mother Nature has done a great job in regenerating the vegetation. Liz as an Adelaide resident who regularly stays on Kangaroo Island with her Family was happy to explain to us how pleased she is to witness the impressive and rapid regrowth of the vegetation. The sculptured burnt tops of the trees wearing a skirt of new growth below created interesting views as Liz expertly drove us on the uncluttered roads chatting to us and providing valuable information. Liz selected restaurants which served delicious food and wines from their own Vineyards and excellent accommodation in Kingscote. I wish Liz, every success in the future as her unhurried tour and professionally run tour which provided a great experience and highlighted the uniqueness of Kangaroo Island. Liz's tour company Discover Adelaide and Beyond exceeded my expectations and her tour like the incredible rock formations in Flinders Chase National Park on Kangaroo Island was REMARKABLE!!!!

Had such an amazing time on Kangaroo Island. Was in a group of just 5 and we all got on so well, I feel I have made new friends for life! My favourite part was seeing Remarkable Rocks and the view from the top of Cape Willoughby Lighthouse was breathtaking. We saw 3 koalas in the wild, which was my first time and they are so cute! Accommodation and food was wonderful. I highly recommend this tour and Liz made sure we were all comfortable. So wonderful not needing to worry about driving or where to go! Thanks so much Liz and Discover Adelaide!!!

This 2 day tour was excellent and my husband and I enjoyed every moment. Liz, our tour guide and minibus driver, picked us up at our home on Saturday morning and returned us on Sunday night. She organised every detail of the tour, including meals, accommodation and places of interest to visit and explore. Our accommodation at the Mercure Kangaroo Island Lodge was excellent and our dinner and breakfast in the Mercure restaurant was fantastic. We went to Cape Willoughby Lighthouse, Seal Bay, Emu Eucalyptus Distillery, Kangaroo Island Wildlife Park, False Cape Winery Cafe, Flinders Chase Cafe, Remarkable Rocks, Admiral’s Arch and the Little Beehive store in Kingscote. Every venue was worth visiting and the international students in our group loved feeding the kangaroos and wallabies at the wildlife park and patting the koalas. A highlight at the park was seeing the little penguins being fed at 10am. I highly recommend Discover Adelaide and the 2 day tour that Liz has put together. She has organised the time table perfectly to ensure all her guests see as much as possible of Kangaroo Island while having a relaxing time, knowing that absolutely everything has been taken care of and they can sit back and enjoy their 2 day holiday.

I had a really amazing experience through the tour to kangaroo island. My favorite places were the Remarkable Rocks, Kangaroo Island Wildlife Park, and Seal Bay Conservation Park. The Remarkable Rocks were so beautiful and unique, with amazing ocean views. At the wildlife park, I got to feed kangaroos and see koalas up close, which was so fun and special. Seal Bay was peaceful, and it was great to see the sea lions resting on the beach. Our tour guide was very friendly and kind, always making sure we were comfortable and happy. The hotel room was clean and cozy, and all the food during the tour was delicious. Everything was well-organized, and I really enjoyed the whole trip.

Thank you Discover Adelaide and our guide Liz for the amazing two day Kangaroo Island (KI) tour. Liz picked us up on time and we were on our way to the KI ferry. The trip over to KI was smooth and upon our arrival at KI, we were quickly off to the first destination. Although the weather was a tad inclement, we visited every scheduled location. The guides at each venue were interesting as they shared their local knowledge. We spent ample time at each location to soak up the atmosphere. The over night accommodation was great as was the food along the way. For me, the highlights were Seal Bay, Remarkable Rocks and our final meal together at the Penneshaw Hotel. Oh, and feed the Kangaroos at the KI Wildlife park was great too. Liz confidently and safety drove us between each location, sharing her local knowledge along the way. Everything was so organised - we didn't have any worries. An amazing memorable adventure; highly recommend! 😄
