Chateau Yaldara
We’ll begin the day at the majestic Château Yaldara, one of the Barossa Valley’s most iconic and historic wineries. Established in 1947 by Hermann Thumm, a European winemaker who brought his old-world techniques to Australia, the château itself sits on the site of an original 19th-century flour mill, adding layers of charm and character to the estate. Famous for its award-winning Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon, Château Yaldara blends rich winemaking traditions with stunning architecture. The name "Yaldara" is derived from the Aboriginal word meaning “sparkling,” a nod to the nearby North Para River and the natural beauty of the area. Guests will experience the award winning wines and estate’s grand sandstone buildings, manicured gardens, and riverside views—making it one of the most photographed destinations in the Barossa. You’ll also have time to explore the grounds with a self-guided tour of the estate, perfect for soaking in its history and capturing memorable photos.

It was a great tour. It was a great day trip, and met some really nice people on the tour. The Barossa Valley is a beautiful part SA. Our tour guide was very friendly and knowledgeable of the history of Adelaide, Barossa and the wineries.

We had a great day. Saw so many aspects of the Barossa we would not have discovered on our own. Based some exceptional wines from lesser known known houses. Well paced day. Great refreshments stops and shopping opportunities, especially Seppelfield & Kiens winery.

Tour overall was good for first time visitors to the region. A nice day out and well organised/ run and your leader was very good. Enjoyed the stop at the donut cafe to start. The first two wineries were good, especially Hemera a boutique winery with every wine being excellent, and fabulously explained by a personable and passionate woman who was a born and bred local. The lunch at Kies family winery was average - meals ok but many many flies in the restaurant was off putting and the wine tasting was very average (not enjoyable), a large contrast to the previous tastings from Hemera. The craft market was really nice with good quality artisan products. The chocolate factory was an easy miss, the final winery was just Ok. The tour could have been finished with lunch, perhaps at the craft market. After lunch it was too long and not worth the extra time spent.

Absolutely delightful and well organised experience! We had plenty of time at each stop and tried many beautiful wines. Mixture of tastings, donuts, lunch, Jam Factory - but nothing felt rushed. Good group of people and our host was super friendly. Barossa Valley itself is absolutely stunning. Highly recommend!
