Bai Biển Vung Tau
Vung Tau has four known beaches—Front Beach, Back Beach, Pineapple Beach, and Paradise Beach. Front Beach (Bãi Trước) is the most popular, which for many others is enough reason to stay away. In addition to the crowds, the water is rather polluted and doesn’t offer the best beach setup. However, you can still enjoy some fresh seafood at the many stalls and restaurants that have set up shop—they serve some of the most delicious seafood in the south of Vietnam. For a better beach experience, head to any of the other three. Back Beach (Bãi Sau) is much less dirty, and perfect for surfing. As the beach gets some wonderful wind swells, kitesurfing shops have appeared over the years, offering rentals and classes for all levels.
White Palace
(Closed on Monday) Bach Dinh, or the White Palace of Vung Tau City is located at 4 Tran Phu Street, on the slop of Big Mountain. Standing 50 meter above the sea level, White Palace has its French name which is La Villa Blanche. Tracing back to the year of 1898, it was considered as a summer holiday villa of French Governor General Paul Doumer. This palace was named after his lovely daughter. Unfortunately, while the structure was being built, Doumer had to come back to France and became the President of France later. It was not until 1916 that it was officially used for holiday resting of some Indochina-French Governors. Once visiting the White Palace, you will be attracted by its all white appearance, which is the reason why people here call it “Bach Dinh” (“Bach” means white color in Vietnamese).

Our guide Y communicated directly before the tour and waited for our ship which was late docking. Her English was excellent and she explained all about the places we visited and tailored the day to our needs. The seaside city was very nice with lots of places to visit. The climb to the top of the statue of Christ was worth it for the view. Local lunch included was basic but tasty. Y was very friendly and included lots of information about life in Vietnam as well as the places we visited. Our driver was also excellent and we felt safe in the busy traffic.

This was an incredible excursion we went on. Anna, our guide, was incredible with her knowledge and assistance of everyone at each location we visited. All the locations we visited were impressive. The Jesus statue was unbelievable, but be aware you will need to walk up over 900 steps to get to it. We stopped for coffee on the shoreline, and the cafe had a great view and an interesting setting. The Vietnamese restaurant we had lunch at was magnificent, and the food suggested for us to eat was so flavoursome. We totally recommend this tour.

Prompt pickup, clean car, safe driver, excellent English speaking guide. We have a very good run down of itinerary. Lawrence our guide took us to a very good restaurant that we ordered the Binh, spring rolls, rice noodle, pork chop rice and 3 color ice drinks. We had flan, ice coffee with flan and even stop at Lotte Mall to do some light shopping. All in all, we had a wonderful day and were in great hands and excellence services!

Our tour guide, Castle, was very knowledgeable and friendly. He communicated with us in English and was easy to understand. They picked is up at the cruise port. He had a sigb waiting, so it was easy to find him. We visited some great sites. I mentioned wanting a massage, and he accommodated us by finding a good place. We also enjoyed lunch—it was delicious. I don’t eat pork, and the restaurant was very accommodating.

This was great as it was customisable, picked up at the port, which was seamless. We visited Long Phuoc Tunnels Historical site and the Long Tan memorial at our request. The Long Tan memorial was a highlight and is an emotional experience. Our tour guide Castle was extremely knowledgeable about all aspects of the history of Vietnam and current issues. He was thoughtful and friendly. We also visited the Robert Taylor Museum of Worldwide Arms which was fascinating and a Buddhist Temple which was peaceful and did the many steps up to the Jesus statue. The driver was excellent and we felt safe with him as the traffic can be a bit hairy. It was lovely to be in an air conditioned car and be able to avoid the bus loads of tourists. Highly recommend this guide, driver and tour operator as communication was seamless and everything was wonderful. If you are cruising choose this over a crowded bus trip. Many thanks to Castle and our driver. We will never forget going to the Long Tan Memorial and meeting the devoted Aussie digger who is the self appointed caretaker for this important piece of history. Thumbs up all the way.
