What To Expect
Kasuga Grand Shrine
Kasuga Taisha is a famous Shinto shrine located in Nara, Japan. It was built in 768 and is known for its many bronze and stone lanterns, which are lit during special festivals. The shrine is surrounded by a beautiful forest and deer, which are considered sacred. Kasuga Taisha is an important cultural and historical site and part of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Nara.
Tamukeyama Hachimangu Shrine
Tamukeyama Hachimangu is a small Shinto shrine in Nara, Japan. It was built in 749 to protect the nearby Great Buddha Hall of Todai-ji Temple. The shrine is dedicated to Hachiman, the god of war and protection. Surrounded by nature, it is a peaceful place with historical importance.

4.00An interesting discovery walking tour, Hiroki San, my guide was friendly and knowledgeable on the history of ancient Nara shrines/temples where past connected to present times. Not forgetting those adorable deers roaming wild coexisting with people. Simple yet delicious Tendon lunch within a relaxing atmosphere and a hand on the multipurpose Furoshiki such as gift wrapping, carry bag and water bottle holder was amazing. We ended our tour strolling along the Naramachi thru’ souvenir shops, traditional houses and shrines. Overall it was a great day talking n listening. I highly recommend to give this 6hrs tour a go ! Thank you Hiroki San, the Furoshiki experience & delicious lunch !!

5.00Excellent tour! I felt that I was able to see all the must-see spots in Nara in one day, without feeling rushed. Our guide, Mikki, was extremely knowledgeable, and her insights added real depth to the experience of visiting the historical sites. We also had the chance to enjoy a traditional meal and learn furoshiki, which made the day even more special. I would definitely recommend this tour!

5.00This was an amazing tour. We were able to see the highlights of Nara: Kasuga taisha, Todai-ji temple, and some smaller unique shrines and temples. The guide, Hiroki, was very knowledgeable about the shrines, temples, history, and culture of Nara. He was also very charming and funny. The tour felt like hanging out with a friend who has moved away to a different country and is helping you learn about history and culture. We had a great tempura rice bowl lunch too. After lunch, we did a furushiki experience. It’s a type of Japanese cloth folding. We learned how to make a bag, a small poncho, and a wine bottle holder! It was all done with folding cloth! Then we walked around the historic district of Naramachi highly recommended!
