Shin Takeda provided a wonderful walking tour of Nara and he even had deer crackers waiting for us at the start of the tour. It was also completely unexpected to have such a small tour group. And Shin gave us some history and education on Buddhism practices. Would definitely recommend this tour to anyone looking for an almost private tour.

We had a great day with our guide Hide enjoying the sights of Nara. Hide was easy company and led us from site to site explaining the individual points of interest without overwhelming us with too much detail which proved just the right pace. The meal break was welcome and the food delicious. Hide explained the set menu carefully increasing our appreciation of the food and then ensured we had biscuits to feed the deer at a less crowded point too. All in all we highly recommend this tour as there is certainly lots to see and it’s great to do so with someone local.

This was my absolute favorite tour in Nara with Reiko. We learned so much about Japanese culture and visited beautiful temples. The definite highlight was, of course, the free-wild deer and their fascinating history in Nara. The food was also wonderful, and the group was simply amazing. Thank you, Reiko, for the tour – I truly enjoyed it and will cherish these memories forever! The tour with Reiko is a 5/5! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Hide was a great tour guide, He was very patient and informative. He answered every question we had with sincerity like he wanted to share the culture of nara. I would go on any tour again if that meant he would be leading. Thank you for the great experience Hide!!

We had a great experience with our tour guide. I didn’t tell my husband about the deer so he was completely surprised! It was great. We really enjoyed the tour. Be prepared for lots of walking!!! Our tour guide was polite, kind and considerate when we needed to stop and rest. She even helped us with getting the correct train ticket back to our hotel after the tour was completed. We highly recommend this tour and guide.

Shin was punctual, polite, informative and friendly for our walking tour of Nara. He has a good understanding of English and we could easily understand him. The walk was at our pace even though we clocked up many steps that afternoon. A very interesting informative and happy experience. A delicious traditional lunch was included.

Very interesting historical tour. In addition, our lovely guide, Nobu-san, shared a lot of knowledge about today’s life in Japan. The deer were abundant and hilarious, nodding at us (but be aware of the nibbling on your legs trying to get the crackers)
