What To Expect
Milford Sound
Take a stunning Scenic Flight to Milford Sound from Queenstown, with our fly cruise fly package including a 2-hour Cruise. Milford Sound is New Zealand's premier tourist destination, and the sheer scale and staggering beauty of the fiord are experienced from all viewpoints. We will fly you from Queenstown over the Southern Alps with breathtakingly spectacular and endless panoramic views of lakes, forested river valleys, waterfalls, jagged razor-backed ridge lines and snow covered peaks. After landing at Milford we will choose whether to take the shuttle bus or, if time permits, take you on a short walk through the bush and foreshore to the cruise boat. Once on the boat, you will take a leisurely cruise along the whole length of the fiord. After the cruise, your pilot will escort you back to the aircraft for the return flight to Queenstown along a different flight path.

5.00We did the Milford Sound Fly-cruise-fly. If I could give this 10 stars I would. I booked this for me and my partner, as a part of his milestone birthday gift and I am so so so glad I did. Not only is this one of the best experiences you can have in the south island of NZ but it could possibly be an experience of a lifetime. We were blessed with a relatively clear day (just a little bit of cloud cover here and there), and the flights still provided breathtaking scenery, the cruise was relaxed and super enjoyable on a well appointed boat. One of the most magical moment on the cruise has to be when you get up close to sterling falls, feeling like you are fully immersed in the beauty that Milford Sound holds. The captain on the boat had insightful and interesting commentary and even got the crowd laughing at times. A special shout out to our pilot, Andrew who did a wonderful job at keeping us all safe while getting a few jokes in with his informative and entertaining commentary. Also another special shoutout to our lovely driver Emma, who picked us up from our hotel in the morning and took us back again in the afternoon. She was so friendly and eager to struck up conversation, sharing her local knowledge of things to see and do around the South Island. All round, I cannot recommend True South Flights highly enough. Everything was so professionally run, super efficient and the whole team was friendly and helpful. Thank you for a once in a lifetime, unforgettable experience.

5.00We had an incredible experience on this tour. Our pilot was Michael and he did a great job of pointing out things to see from the plane. The weather was perfectly clear and we had amazing views of the mountains on the flight to Milford sound. On the boat tour we saw many waterfalls and a few dolphins.

5.00A ‘must do’ if you’re in the area. Pick up from central Queenstown, minibus to the airport & pilot takes you to the plane. Small planes with all window seats so everyone gets a fantastic view! Great information & commentary by the pilot on both trips. The Cruise is on a large boat with lots of facilities, lots of places to see the sites from, plus free hot drinks for all. Staff were all so friendly & helpful. Loved it!

5.00Gorgeous. No notes. 10/10 and totally worth the extra $ to fly instead of taking the bus or driving - had a whole afternoon free to explore queenstown since the flight was so efficient! Plus the pilot made sure to swing around and givd us an incredible view of the glaciers before taking us to Milford sound where we saw them from the ground!
