Your tour will begin at 09.30 when we will meet at the Margaret River mouth, Prevelly Beach. Please note we do not pick up for this tour. You’ll be greeted by your guide at the end of the Rivermouth CarPark .Safety instructions, lifejackets and paddles will be allocated for the 2-person, 3-person or 4-person canoe boats Unique Australian sites are identified as you travel upstream on this beautiful crystal crystal-clear river. Access to the river is very restricted, so there are no powerboats, and the ecosystem is almost untouched, boasting an abundance of wildlife, unique coastal forests and tranquil waters. Lunch will be served around 12 pm and includes an exotic selection of wild food tastes from all over Western Australia, including kangaroo, emu and crocodile, wild fruits, vegetarian and vegan food. After lunch, we’ll paddle a little further upstream past forested kangaroo habitats and learn the history of our first native inhabitants, plus trials of the famous Bussell family, who were among the first European settlers in the region. There will be opportunities for unique photos, fun in the sun before we meander back downstream or race for a bottle of Margaret River wine.

I would strongly advise skipping this trip. I would go as far as to say it was dangerous. There was a total lack of care shown to the group from the tour guide we had. It was so bad that most of the children on the tour were frightened and refused to get back in the canoes after the half way point. We were told unless we wanted to hitchhike or walk for hours we better get back in. There was another tour led by a lady who were not brought as far down the river as us (due to the weather) and seemed to have a different experience to the one we experienced by our guide (older gentleman). The wind was far too strong to be out on the water or to be brought as far down the river as we were brought. My friend and I ended up in the river pushing our canoe to try and get us to safety. The tour guide paddles past without a care in the world. I would avoid this tour.

Awesome trip up and down the river. The food was amazing, great to try some native Australian food. The kangaroo was epic. The guides were friendly and informative. Unfortunately, you can't go into the caves anymore. Great experience.

Our experience did not live up to the glowing reviews which we read when we booked the trip. We submitted a detailed review to the owner who took our concerns seriously and promised action in response. The issues related to the tour leader and the weather conditions. The group which took place at the same time and in the same weather conditions was led by another guide and it was evident that they had a positive experience which validated the positive reviews. We were just unlucky and chalk this up as a ‘one-off’. I would have confidence that future trips will be as good as most reviews claim.

The trip was very enjoyable. The tour guide, Emma, was very knowledgeable about the indigenous culture and history of the area. She was very patient and helpful with our canoe efforts. The bushtucker lunch was delicious and it was definitely worth the cost of the trip. Would highly recommend this tour for anyone of any skill level.

Wooditjup (Margaret River) canoe tour was amazing! I would 100% be recommending this to anyone travelling to the region. Highlights: -fantastic, cool, calm and knowledgeable tour guide. Our tour guide was an absolutely wonderful wise woman. -Culturally informative, the tour really supported everyone’s knowledge of how important the river is to the Aboriginal community past and present. - The food was unreal! I’ve never had so much Australian food in my life and I live here. - It is fun and safe for a wide range of age groups - No sharks in the river. - Heaps of bird watching, bring your binoculars. Very grateful for the experience and the knowledge we learnt.

Good fun, knowledgeable guide. Would have been useful to know that lunch was pretty much all bushtucker when you have fussy eaters but good time had by all. We’ll be achy tomorrow. Thank you
