Palace of Versailles
Visit the Royal Palace of Versailles, home of the French Monarchy. The Royal Chapel
Admire the Royal Chapel, completed in 1710 at the end of Louis XIV’s reign. Here your guide will divulge the traditions, music, and ceremonies that took place inside the chapel. Inside, you will also receive a lesson on the Absolute Monarchy: the belief that the King was elected by God. Pay attention to the Gothic-inspired features, as well as the more traditional architectural style of European palatine chapels.

5.00We did the full day visit to Versailles Palace, and were grateful for the pick up & drop off, especially as the day was cold and there was a lot of walking involved. Lilit was a delightful and very informative guide, having brought our attention to facts we did not know, ensuring we did not miss and valuable details. Approachable and friendly, it was more like walking with a long lost family member amongst family gardens long forgotten. I would recommend this particular tour to anyone with any pre existing knowledge and/or interest in the history period represented by Versailles and surrounds. It is a delight to see it all with one's own eyes and feel the power of the times of three consecutive French Kings and their courts. The Grand & Petit Trianons (not to mention Marie Antoinette's hamlet) have a different feel and interest of their own, absolutely worthwhile visiting even in the dead of winter. It would have been even more glorious when the gardens were in full leaf and bloom, not to mention the fountains operational and the statues uncovered. Next Time! 5.00Fantastic visit. We did the Through the Hidden Doors tour with Anneli, full day with a visit to the garden, Petit Trianon and the Hamlet. Even on a crowded day, we had most rooms completely to ourselves. Anneli was so knowledgeable, included all family members expertly, and was a pleasure to meet. It was a trip highlight!

5.00This was our first experience hiring a private guide and car service, and we are now officially spoiled. Booking this tour was worth every penny and then some! Our guide, Lillit, was so personable and dove right into the history with engaging storytelling on the drive from Paris to Versailles. Our driver, Sid, was delightful too, and we were treated to the utmost in customer care the entire time. For door-to-door service, true professionalism, and an exclusive experience, this is definitely the way to go. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this tour to anyone looking for convenience and to maximize their time. Without a doubt, this was the highlight of our entire trip to Paris! Merci beaucoup!!

5.00We had an amazing time with our guide Monty. Trying to get through Versailles and The Louvre all in one day is quite ambitious but he proved to be up for the job. We had a great driver who navigated us through the busy streets while Monty provided a constant stream of interesting information about what we were seeing. Even though we had to pack in a lot, he took us to all of the cool parts of both places that we might not have known to see without him. His knowledge of the city and the history of not only Versailles and The Louvre but every place along the way was unmatched. If you’re looking for an amazing day, I wouldn’t hesitate to give Monty your business!

5.00What a FANTASTIC day with the most amazing tour guide. My husband and I, along with another couple spent the day with Lilit and our driver Sid seeing both Versailles and the Louvre. There is just no way that you could see both of those spots so efficiently and learn so very much than to do it with a guide like Lilit. We never felt rushed and all agreed that we would do it again as it was one of the true highlights of our time in Paris. We can’t wait to return and learn more about this beautiful city - hopefully with Lilit again!

5.00Monty was our guide. He was extraordinary knowledgeable and was very patient in highlighting all of the important historical, architectural, and artistic aspects of Versailles. The tour was enthralling and really help us understand how the building of the palace itself impacted various historical moments in France. Monty also pointed out lesser known anecdotes about the royal family members that lived at Versailles. He was also able to put Versialles in the larger context of French culture, especially the recognition of class differences. That was fascinating. I highly recommend Monty for any tour as he was also our guide for Museum d'Orsey. Mike

5.00From the moment we met until hotel return, Anneli shared her knowledge of history, architecture, art and food. She had a very engaging demeanor as she shared all things Versailles. I am a docent and board member of an art museum so my standards are quite high. Anneli was the epitome of a guide!!!
