Guests see magnificently restored furnishings and decor in the home of the W.L. Moody, Jr. Moody built a fortune in some 50 entities, including insurance, banking, hotels, newspapers, cotton, railroads, ranching and others. At the time of his death he was among America's 10 wealthiest people. He established the Moody Foundation and his daughter established the Mary Moody Northen Endowment, charitable foundations which today support environmental, educational, social service, and historical projects.

5.00This was wonderful, stepping back in time! The mansion is perfectly preserved, and so very interesting to visit. Defiantly a very peaceful few hours for adults, not much for children, however the lower floors house a children's museum, which was not open the day we visited.

5.00I have always wanted to visit the Moody Mansion, and on this trip to Galveston, I finally did. It is a self-guided tour that provides the family's history. It is worth your time if you like history and beautiful, old, restored mansions.
