Hang Luon Cave
Many tourists suppose that Luon Cave is like a gate opening a wonderland with water and limestone mountains in Halong Bay. Crossing Luon Cave, all the tiredness and exhaustion of tourists are left outside so that they can find their souls connecting with nature. Luon Cave is like a tunnel that is 100 meters in length, 4 meters in width and 3 meters in height. Compared to other caves in Halong Bay, Luon Cave is not a large one, but it is an exclusive cave that contains mysterious things. This cave is located at the foot of an imposing mountain, and to reach the other side of the island, tourists have to go on a boat passing under the mountain. Therefore, the cave is called “Luon Cave’. Luon Cave is the arch-shaped entrance leading to a tranquil lake, which is about 1 square kilometer. Enclosed by high mountains, this lake is protected from the waves and winds of the ocean, and the water surface is relatively gentle.
Dark & Light Cave
Sat at the edge of Halong Bay, Dark & Light Cave can be found in Lan Ha Bay. Lan Ha Bay is a few kilometers away from the more frequently visited caves and closer to Cat Ba National Park, so it may take an hour or two to get here from other caves. Once you arrive, a dazzling combination of white limestone karsts, emerald green waters and the dark mystery of the caves create a wonderful atmosphere making this a trip worth taking. The cave is named Dark & Light Cave because it’s actually a system made up of two separate caves. Dark Cave is 100 meters long with very little natural or artificial light so you will need a flashlight inside! Light Cave, on the other hand, is considerably shorter and has tonnes of natural light beaming through gaps and holes in the rock making it feel like a church carved by Mother Nature herself. Light Cave is always accessible whereas Dark Cave is sometimes swallowed by the tide.

Sung Sot Cave
The cave can be found on the island of Bo Hon, along with another popular Halong cave, Trinh Nu. From the dock below, visitors must climb 50 stairs to the grotto’s mouth, which is just 25 meters above the sea. Sung Sot Cave is divided into two chambers; the first chamber, known as the “Waiting Room” is vast, adorned by stalagmites and stalactites and lit by multicolored lights positioned to complement the chamber’s structural beauty In order to reach the second chamber, visitors must walk down a narrow passageway. The second chamber is known as the “Serene Castle”. This chamber is large and grand with an extremely high ceiling and has many interesting rock formations which locals identify by likening them to animals due to their shapes.
Lan Ha Bay
Lan Ha Bay is made up of around 300 karst islands and limestone sea rocks and can be found southeast of Cat Ba Island. As a geological extension of Halong Bay, Lan Ha Bay is equally as beautiful although it is less visited, less inhabited and therefore has the extra appeal of being a more peaceful place.

Not my kind of trip. Very friendly staff and everything neat but too commercial. They try too hard to be European/western, which detracts from the quality. The places visited (caves, beach) were nice, but would also easily fit into a day trip. Food not special and also not necessarily very tasty. Prices on the boat for drinks/massage were relatively expensive.

Starting with the good stuff, the staff on board were 10/10, attentive and committed, both guides and service. Welcome food, dinner and brunch well, breakfast could improve it a bit. Now, we either didn't understand what it included or we were misled. Reading the description we thought the bathtub was included in the price and that drinks during meals too. They only give you two bottles of water during the stay and you cannot put plastic bottles in the boat, the rest is paid. We ask the company operators to clarify the advertisement better so that no one will fall into error again and it has been denied. Overall, it was fine, there was a good atmosphere on the boat and the fact that they tend to bring you together with your countrymen in the food is a point. On the other hand, forget about privacy or clear areas in Ha Long Bay, it is very crowded and unfortunately, the waters also feel very polluted by the abuse of boats in the area. My recommendation is to find another alternative to Ha Long Bay and if you are not very exquisite, as for the boat there are cheaper options that offer the same. Hot tub from the cold terrace and the off-duty saunas. Order a second floor, a lady appeared on the boat selling things while my partner and I showered, it was in anecdote but well, it is not tasteful dish to be observed in balls. I conclude, the staff of 10, the ship's services improve and the announcement should be clarified.

Unfortunately the pictures advertised do not correspond to the actual cruise ship that we stayed on. The crew stuff were very attentive and eager to help. They made everything in their capacity to provide quality service and make our stay on the boat pleasant. The food was tasty and there were many options to choose from in the buffet. Nevertheless, the tour itself is not something I would recommend. Ha Long bay is very touristy and attracts huge crowds. The travel agency was very helpful with the transfers and arranged our itinerary to Nihn Bình.

The boat cruise was nice and it is to do once but unfortunately far too touristic and we were pressed for time each time so we could not take the time to take full advantage of it

Overall, we had a good experience. The staff, boat, and food were all lovely — and Rosie was an especially great tour guide. Before boarding, staff informed us that we’d been upgraded to a larger top-floor cabin at no extra charge to better accommodate our family (F49, F22, F19), which we really appreciated. We were expecting more young families/younger travellers, but most passengers were retirees. We booked the 2D1N cruise, but the total time on the actual cruise was under 24 hours (boarding around 1:00 pm on Day 1 and leaving at 10:30 am on Day 2). There was a 40-minute transfer boat ride with wooden benches and no back support before reaching the main cruise boat, which was very clean, modern, and comfortable — including our upgraded cabin. Lunch on arrival was a lovely all-you-can-eat buffet, followed by kayaking and a swim (life jackets were required in the water, so it was more of a float than a proper swim). Happy hour on the rooftop bar was great, with a fun cooking demonstration, and dinner was a beautifully presented and delicious five-course meal. The second morning started early with activities and meals, but with cabin checkout at 9:00–9:45 am and transfer departure at 10:30 am, the day felt a little rushed. Something also worth mentioning is my egg coffee onboard was $10 AUD, when I’ve been paying about $2 AUD for the same on land. Overall, it was a lovely experience — just shorter and pricier than we expected in some parts and not as diverse as an age range as we were expecting.

The boat and staff were exceptional. And the scenery was beautiful. We had a great time. Got to meet some wonderful passengers that we had a lot of fun with. The only problem (not their fault) was the trip wasn't long enough. Next time I'll do a two or three day trip.

Our prepaid reservation was unexpectedly cancelled due to overbooking and a system error. This caused inconvenience and disrupted our travel plans. We hope the cruise improves its booking management and communication to avoid similar cases.
