A 60 minute tour with our friendly guides who will provide an insight into Stewart Island’s community, history and environment. Unspoiled, incredibly beautiful and steeped in stories of Maori legend, Stewart Island is well worth this informative introduction. There is plenty of time to get off the bus for photo stops and short walks along the way. Highlights include the Rakiura National Park entrance at Lee Bay, Halfmoon and Horseshoe Bays and views of Paterson Inlet from Observation Rock.

I had an awesome time on the Stewart Island Village & Bays Tour our guide Rhys was outstanding. His local knowledge, passion for the island, and genuine enthusiasm brought the history and scenery to life. We learned so much about the people, wildlife, and unique character of Stewart Island. Rhys made the whole tour feel personal and unforgettable.

Todays tour was a fantastic introduction to Oban and Stewart Island. Local lady, Leah, was very impressive with her local, historical and technical knowledge. Her driving and consideration for others on the road made me feel safe in a new location. Leah engaged with her visitors willingly and proved helpful with finding best vistas for this amateur photographer. An added bonus was Leahs knowledge and passion for protecting the island wilderness. An excellent advocate for native wildlife and pristine locations. The vehicle was very clean and offered great views. Highly recommend Real NZ and definitely Leah for a local tour.

did the 90 minute tour with Bevan and loved every minute. Bevan shared his knowledge of the Pakeha and Maori of the Island as we visited many beautiful locations. Just a wonderful spot made better by locals who love their homes.

What a way to see around Stewart Island . We had the most incredible tour guide who made our trip with his wealth of knowledge of the history and present day on Stewart Island. We had a lot of laughs he was very comical, such fun and we could easily understand him. Thank you!

This was the first item on our itinerary as we arrived on Rakiura and it was a terrific introduction to the island and its history. Rhys did a magnificent job of touring the major highlights in and around Oban, pointing out areas of interest and places we might choose to visit later. He was knowledgeable, helpful and clearly loves his job!

My tour was cancelled because the driver was sick but I wasn’t informed until getting there, which was a bit annoying as I took the ferry especially for the tour. Still I was moved free of charge to the Ulva Island Explorer and that tour was really good :)
