Enjoy a fun day out on the ocean, engaging with turtles, marine life and nature with our ecologically conscious Swim with Turtles Tour! Our tour begins with a 20min boat ride to Cook Island Aquatic Reserve (Joongurra-Narrian). The reserve lies approximately 600m off the shore of Fingal Head, NSW. It is a foraging ground to a significant number of sea turtles. The numbers are so significant that the island was originally named Turtle Island. It is here that we will dive in and meet these turtally awesome locals! The surrounding waters of the reserve are also home to a wide variety of subtropical and temperate species of fish, crustaceans, and rays – just to name a few! Prepare to be awed by the magical underwater world that lies here on our doorstep! Amazing experience!! We had a very rough day to go to the island but it made it more of an adventure. The guides were amazing and always made sure we felt safe. With a group of about 12 people, we had the island and turtles to ourselves!! There were sooooooo many turtles and they were very laid back, allowing us to get up close. All up it was a breathtaking experience with an amazing eco company and extraordinary guides.

What a fabulous day out we had today. Check in process was seamless, and Gemma was a pro at fitting everyone’s wet suits. Snowy and Hunter were great - the boat ride out to Cook Island was exhilarating. Once in the water, it was magical. We saw turtles, wobbegongs, and an amazing array of fish and marine life. Such a beautiful experience and memories we will cherish. Thanks team, we will be back!

Excellent experience - thoroughly recommend. The team (Gemma, Connor, Corey) all helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. We are a family of 2 adults and 2 teenagers who all rate this trip very highly. We swam up close to loads of turtles and along with lots of fish saw octopus, starfish and wobbegong. Even the boat ride out to the island was fun, and their snorkelling equipment and wetsuits all excellent condition. Note that there are no facilities to change out of your wet bathers when you get back so be prepared (we had driven down from Gold Coast).

Only a short drive from Kirra and we were met by friendly and knowledgeable. They kitted us up and following a safety briefing we were off. We saw dolphins, turtles, Wobbegongs and myriads of fish! Our guide Tom kept us safe and led us along the island shores. A great experience and value for money.

We had a fantastic experience with Cooly Eco Adventures on our turtle tour. Despite the weather being a bit ordinary — rainy and overcast — the experience itself was excellent and well worth it. Our two guides, Cory and Connor, were absolute pros. They got us fully kitted out in wetsuits and fins quickly and confidently, kept everyone comfortable in the water, and made sure we felt safe the whole time. Their knowledge and calm approach really stood out, especially given the conditions. We were lucky enough to see turtles, leopard sharks, and even an ornate wobbegong, which was an incredible experience — particularly for our kids. We did the tour as a family of five with three teenagers, and it was perfect for that age group. Fun, educational, and genuinely memorable. Highly recommend if you’re in the area and want a great marine life experience, even if the weather doesn’t fully cooperate.
