Great experience overall, though there is one point of improvement opportunity. This tour includes two tastings. The first tasting was at Domaine Darby and it was wonderful. The wine maker gave us the tour and he was very friendly. We ended up buying 6 bottles to ship back to the US. Lunch is spent in the cute town of Beaune. The opportunity for improvement is the second winery we attended, Phillipe Lerlec or something like that. It felt rushed; and that the owner/shop manager was annoyed by our visit. He gave no history of the wine or any kind of overview. Just a quick tasting followed up by “do you want to buy anything?” Our tour guide was Paul and he was friendly and knowledgeable of the region and its wine. Overall, we would do this tour again but thought I would share just one point of opportunity to improve this tour.

I had a great time! I learned so much and feel so much more confident about wine from Burgundy and wine in general. David was an absolute gem and answered every question I had (which were a lot). There was a nice lunch break in Beaune (make sure you make a reservation if you want to go to a nicer place during the busy season!) A great way to spend the day.

We loved our tour with Thomas! He was so much fun! We learned so much about the region, the wines and the area. He had great recommendations for our lunch break. Only drawback was finding the tour in the morning. But he found us! Would recommend 100%!

We had a great day with Anne! She provided a wealth of knowledge on the Bourgogne wines and area. She recommended some regional dishes to try for lunch during our free time in Beaune. We stopped at two different type wineries in the area, which was nice to see the variety of wineries in the area. I would definitely recommend booking this tour!

We have been to Burgundy before and have done numerous wine tours. This wine tour that was through Vivator and executed by Ophorus wine tours and it was not good. We had anticipated maybe meeting winemakers but two vineyards were from their wine representatives. First winery had their representative going back and forth to 2 groups and then a third group arrived. Long waits between tastings. Interesting historical building which was impressive. What appeal to us for taking the tour was the visit Beaune but we had only an hour to grab lunch and see the sites. We would have appreciated more time in Beaune. The third place we visited was a wine shop so the representative was slow in the tastings as he was juggling our tour group and helping at the cashier ringing up sales by other walk ins. We were bought water glasses but no water served. He remembered the water as we were leaving. The tour guide had a heavy accent so it was hard to hear in the far back of the minivan even though he wore a microphone.

Highly recommend this as a great way to learn about the wines of Burgundy, whilst also enjoying tastings at two wineries. Our guide Thomas was extremely knowledgeable and shared his knowledge interestingly and informatively. The tour allows for a couple of hours in the town of Beaune, a very pretty medieval town.

Only did quick tastings at two vineyards- and time to wander the village. Felt more like a sales pitch than an actual tour. Didn’t help that our tour was an hour delayed due to another guest and rude comments from the tour operator. Would recommend exploring wine bars in Dijon and doing tastings there rather than booking this door.
