What To Expect
Ideally located in Jarnac on the banks of the Charente, the TIFFON establishments invite you to discover its exceptional heritage within an emblematic building. Founded in 1875, explore the authenticity of an independent family house whose production secrets have been passed down for 6 generations. The House is run by the Braastad family and runs the estate in a traditional way by being an actor from the vine to the glass. Immerse yourself in the secrets of cognac manufacturing through the different stages of production: history, know-how, distillation. This dive into the heart of cognac will take you to our cellars and introduce you to the art of aging and blending. Finally, after a visit to our cabinet of curiosities, the experience ends with the tasting. We present our 3 oldest tasting cognacs XO; Superior XO and Extra. The quintessence of cognac for an exceptional moment. *Tasting reserved for adults.

5.00We had a private tour with Norwegian/French Erik who spoke Norwegian with us. We got a good introduction to the company’s history, development and actuality. Erik a knowledgeable, funny and a super guide. We understood that Braastad is constantly in development but that they keep on with the entire production process even now and in the future. Really worth the time and money, can be recommended.

5.00Eric, the Braastad guide, presented an engaging story about the distillery and its products. He patiently answered all of our questions (we had a lot!) and was generous in introducing us to the cognacs at the end of the tour.

5.00This was an amazing experience for us, who knew absolutely nothing about cognac. The tour of the buildings and distillery was extremely interesting as was learning about the history of the beautiful building, cognac itself and the family who built this enterprise. Eric was extremely professional and knowledgeable. He answered all our questions (there were lots!) and shared so much information with us. We were very lucky to have him to ourselves and he was just so friendly and accommodating. Can’t recommend him highly enough - a great guide!

5.00Had a fantastic tour here with Eric. He was very welcoming and extremely knowledgeable. He showed and explained the process of cognac making and tasting very well. Really enjoyed the visit and would highly recommend it to every one. Oh! And the cognac was delicious!!

5.00Really interesting tour with a good balance of educational and entertainment aspects. Generous tasting at the end. English speaking tour and Eric spoke well. His prior knowledge of other cognac houses also helps elaborate on differences in practice. Great tour as can see process end to end as they distill on site - not the norm on most cognac tours. PS. The cognac tasted good too. My fave was the Braastad Extra and my wife’s was the Tiffon XO. Booked through GetYourGuide but seems cheaper via TripAdvisor.
