Welcoming guests to Kauai since 2007, Luau Kalamaku is Hawaii's only luau show performed “in-the-round,” offering optimal views of the stage. Witness the unearthing of the pig from the traditional imu (underground oven) and enjoy a hula lesson. A craft fair featuring unique items by local artisans awaits on the sprawling lawn. Feast on a delicious buffet of local and familiar favorites and enjoy a Mai Tai from the open bar. The main show tells the amazing story of the ancient Hawaiian legend of Kalamaku “child of the new land." Through laughter, fear, seduction and fire, a new legacy is created, born from the cherished seeds of their ancestors. The theatrical luau show culminates with a fantastic fire dream featuring fire poi balls and traditional fire knife dancing.

What To Expect
Experience an authentic Hawaiian luau amidst the splendor of Kauai - the garden island. Luau Kalamaku combines traditional luau elements - a Hawaiian feast, hula dancing and an imu (underground oven) with an award winning, theatrical performance. Gather under a massive open air pavilion to enjoy live music and a buffet dinner of local Hawaiian favorites. Grab a Mai Tai from the open bar before the lights dim, signaling the start of the theatrical and fiery show which chronicles the story of ancient Hawaiian's epic sea voyage from Tahiti to Kauai. Optional add-ons are available including convenient roundtrip transportation from many Kauai hotels, a train ride around the heart of Kilohana Plantation or a seating upgrade to bring you even closer to the main stage.

5.00We went with family age 3 to 72. Everyone enjoyed the food and drinks, missing only a chance to try Poi. The dancing, costumes and entertainment were top notch. Our 3 year old was dancing the hula in the aisle. He totally understood the story being told. It was a wonderful night.

4.00I'm not sure what the other luau's are like in Kauai but this one was ok. I've been to two other Luau's over the last 25 years and I still remember the one on the beach in Maui was the best. This luau is on a plantation and I liked having some time to walk round the property. The buffet dinner had a lot of selections and I thought the food was good but in a cafeteria style way. I did like the open bar and for the price of admission it did add some value to the event. Everyone at our table did have trouble following the narrative and the sound was not great. The performers really did give 100% and I think that's what really saved the show. Obviously the fire acts were the most fun. I think there are two other Luau's on the island but we chose this one since it was closest to our hotel. I would definitely book it directly since we found the concierge price at our hotel was higher. Also, they have VIP seats in the first three rows which I'm not sure is worth the extra money. Overall, I could recommend this is you're in the area

5.00Our family of 4, ages 20, 51, 53, 71, enjoyed the train ride and luau. We did the gold seating and were right up near the stage; having been in the back at other luau's I can say this really enhanced our overall experience. The train ride through the grounds was a fun way to get to know the area and some history. Our train driver, Kamu, was funny and kept us interested during the tour. The food was good, with enough variety that we all had more than enough to eat. The drinks were more than strong enough and we all enjoyed the open bar with multiple options for those wanting alcoholic or non-alcoholic drinks. The cast, story, and music was wonderful. We enjoyed the night and would highly recommend this luau.
