Cat Ba National Park covers 15,200 ha, including 9,800 ha of forest and 5,400 ha of sea surface. In particular, the strict protection area of 800 hectares is the primary forest, the remaining 14,000 hectares is the ecological restoration.
Cat Ba is a special national park with a combination of different ecosystems: limestone forest ecosystems in the limestone mountains, wet highland ecosystems, mangrove ecosystems, marine ecosystems with inshore reefs, cave systems with distinctive habitat for bats and plantations located between valleys such as Khe Sau or communes along the valey.

What To Expect
8.00: Van and tour guide pick up 8.20: ToNational Park gate. Buy entrance fee and start trekking. 8.30 -11.30: On the trail through the tropical forest you will be immersed in nature and see many butterfly.. 11.30: You will stop at frog pond (trail from Park gate to frog pond is 6 km). This is the largest freshwater lake in the middle of the National Forest. From the bottom of the pond, reaching up to thousands of trees and water - the species is only found in the Frog ponds not found anywhere else in the island. There are many types of fish and crab in the pond. 12.00 - 13.00: continue the journey from Frog Pond to Viet Hai village (3.5 km) This is a small village of local residents with about 100 families. 13.00: Have lunch and take a rest at Viet Hai village, take a fun experience by fish massage your feet. 14.00: free to explore the lives of people in the village, Cycling 5km to Viet Hai harbor. 15.00: Boat will take you through Lan Ha Bay, you have a chance to admire the scenery of beautiful Lan Ha Bay, Cai Beo fishing village. Our boat will stop at a floating house to take kayak then rows to a wild beach for swimming 16.45: Back to Cai Beo pier, Car take you to Cat Ba town.

5.00We have enjoyed a demanding 10 km trek through the jungle until we reach the Viet Hai village, then food, kayaking and above all we have loved sailing by boat, a totally different view of the bay. Highly recommended. Special mention for our guide Anh, a tenner, who has made it unforgettable.

5.00We had an unforgettable day exploring Hạ Long Bay and Cát Bà Island with our guide! The entire itinerary was perfectly arranged and every activity exceeded our expectations. In the morning, we enjoyed a beautiful hike with stunning views and a relaxed pace. Our guide explained the local history and nature along the way, making the hike both fun and meaningful. After lunch, we went cycling through the peaceful countryside. It was a great way to see the local villages and rice fields, and our guide always made sure everyone felt safe and comfortable. In the afternoon, we had an amazing kayaking experience surrounded by limestone cliffs and calm water. Our guide showed us hidden spots and took great photos for us, which we really appreciated. The day ended with a relaxing cruise through the breathtaking landscape of Hạ Long Bay and Lan Hạ Bay. The views were incredible, and the entire experience felt well-organized and smooth. Overall, our guide was friendly, knowledgeable, patient, and very professional. Thanks to them, this trip became one of the highlights of our journey. Highly recommended!

5.00Great experience, the guide Anh is very kind. He even makes a great video montage of the day that he sends afterwards. Pick up in front of the hotel, hiking, great food, cycling, kayaking and boat to finish. I strongly advise!

5.00We had the tour with Anh today and it was absolutely outstanding. The hike was exactly what we expected: pure nature and very varied. Anh is very knowledgeable, told us a lot and pointed out many little details that we would not have seen otherwise. We also had a great time after the hike. A solid 10 out of 10 points and a full recommendation 👌👌

5.00I had an amazing experience on this tour led by Mr. To Fu, a truly exceptional guide. He was well-prepared, providing water and snacks for all participants, and showed angelic patience even when circumstances were challenging and some gear failed. His calm, caring attitude and genuine engagement made the entire journey feel safe and enjoyable. The itinerary was diverse and well-paced: we started with a visit to the national park’s flora and fauna exhibition, followed by a several-hour jungle trek covering over a dozen kilometers. Then came a scenic 5 km bike ride and a peaceful boat trip through Lan Ha Bay, including a one-hour break for kayaking. Nature, adventure, and relaxation—all perfectly balanced under the guidance of someone who clearly loves what he does.

5.00I would really recommend this trip if you want everything to be taken care of. The trip includes pick up and drop off to and from your hotel, hike in the national park (our guide Tofu prepared water and snacks for us 🥰), lunch (with vegetarian options 🤩), bike ride, boat ride and kayaking. All day experience, with every penny.

5.00Very nice excursion to the 1st Vietnamese National Park. The jungle is impressive. Linh is always in a good mood and friendly. Enjoyable lunch. Then bike, boat, kayak. Beautiful Halong Bay. Be careful it is not a small walk but a difficult hike. Put on good shoes, it slips.
