For my second stay in Lyon I had the chance to visit the Halles de Bocuse LE 31 December with Eillin. She’s a passionate and exciting guide, I wouldn’t reveal anything, I’ll let you come and follow her and listen to her, but the New Year’s Eve food tasted different that night. I can’t wait to come back to Lyon to make the other visit she offers

Eillin is an amazing guide. The way she introduces her tour, guides us through the Halles Paul Bocuse, discovering Lyon’s food history, gastronomy, the famous Mothers, Paul Bocuse and their legacy is captivating. Besides the Tour, Eillin gave us tips and adresses where to eat, what to taste according to what we were looking for as a food experience and she makes her available in case we need some advices, which is valuable. Thanks Eillin for this experience.

The guide gave us a lot of great historical information. Not a lot of food stops but tried a bunch of local foods you probably wouldn’t order on your own. Would have been better if it had been a bigger group. It was just my family so we had no down time to discuss amongst ourselves.

We met Eillin at 9, and she was awaiting us with luscious croissants to start the day! We were her only tour members this day as it’s toward the end of the tourist season and she tailored the tour perfectly for us. A walk through the old city and its secret passages, more bakery tastes. Walk through the various architectures through the centuries. And into the present day Les Halles where we sat and sampled “morning” wines (careful!) and wonderful foods of Lyon. Eillin was a perfect host and guide as she explained the history of the various foods and the evolution of cookery in Lyon. Gave our visit context and illumination!

The mixture of architecture, history, and gastronomy was fascinating and well worth the fee. Our guide Eillin was fabulous. Delightful, engaging, and exceedingly knowledgeable. The concept of a walking tour and tasting stops worked out very well. I highly recommend this experience, particularly if Eillin is your guide.

We had a wonderful experience with Eillin. She shared a lot of knowledge about the history of Lyon, its buildings and architectural styles. She took us into several of the hidden passageways, the Traboules which was a great experience for us. We visited some unique stores and the famous Paul Bocuse market. Eillin introduced us to traditional Lyonnaise cuisine and also the local wine. We would thoroughly recommend this tour - it was a very enjoyable day.

This was a very enjoyable experience. Eillin was a wonderful guide who shared a lot of interesting information about Lyon and its food reputation. We visited some traditional Lyon stores and of course we visited the famous food market. Along the walk she also talked about the buildings and the changes in architectural styles. We tried some traditional Lyonnaise food and had some delicious wine. All the while, Eillin was explaining the history and evolution of the food scene in Lyon. We would thoroughly recommend this tour.
