What To Expect
Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding
The guide and driver will pick up visitors at hotels 1 by 1 from 7 to 8, transfer to the Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding for about 30 to 45 minutes. Visit the panda park for 2.5 to 3 hours by seeing over the pandas from tiny pink newborns to giants. Admire the adorable panda babies running around their play enclosures, laying in the pool, or climbing the trees.
Leshan Giant Buddha (Da Fo)
Afterwards, drive to the historic Leshan Buddha by a ride of 2.5 hours on the expressway. After a quick lunch, sightseeing of the world's largest sitting Buddha statue which is about 71 meters high crafted out of a cliff face. If the situation allows, the guide will take you for a closer look at the Buddha's head and feet. Find out more about Buddism and local beliefs in the Lingyun Temple next to the Giant Buddha. After 2 hours visiting at Leshan Buddha, drive back to Chengdu, end the tour at the city center of Tianfu Square.

5.00I saw both the pandas and the giant Buddha. Both were great experiences, but there is a lot of waiting involved. The bus trip to the Buddha takes over 2 hours each way, and once we arrived we queued for over an hour, as it was a busy period. Visiting Leshan and visiting the panda research base would be good day trips on their own, but if you want to see two of the most impressive attractions in Sichuan in 1 day I would recommend this tour.

5.00I joined this English-guided tour and had a nice time. The guide spoke fluent English, showed us good spots to avoid crowds at the Panda Base and explained the Buddha’s history well. We had a group lunch around 1-2 PM—30 RMB per person, tasty Sichuan food. The bus was clean, driver steady. Relaxing and worth recommending.

4.00We were lucky the day was good to see the panda’s unfortunately the panda’s have to be wanted to be seen😀. Barry, our guide spoke English and communicated well but we wld have liked more specific in formation relating to the panda’s and the facility. All in all I wld recommend this tour.

5.00What an amazing trip! The weather was cool, making the whole journey very comfortable. We could get on the bus at the meeting point, and what's more, hotel pick - up and drop - off were also available, which was so convenient. The Leshan Giant Buddha was breathtaking, and seeing the pandas was such a delight. Our guide was knowledgeable and friendly, adding so much to the experience. It was really a fantastic tour!

5.00It's an English guided group mixed with Europeons, Ameicans and some Asians. The tour leader Mark speaks English pretty well and makes himself understood all the way. Panda base is large and clean, very well organized too. Worth the money, good choice to travel around the city.
