Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse
Your guide will take you on a trip through maritime history as you wind your way up the spiral staircase inside the lighthouse tower. This famous landmark was constructed from locally quarried limestone in 1895; and still functions as a vital working lighthouse for vessels navigating the treacherous cape. Discover the importance of Cape Leeuwin to early mariners and hear stories of the hardships faced by the early lighthouse keepers and their families. Once at the top of the tower you will be awed by views over the immense ocean, crashing waves and wilderness of the landscape. There are regular sightings of dolphins and you may even spot whales migrating between May and September. The spectacular surroundings are enhanced by the beautifully restored keepers’ cottages. Plan time to include a walk around the grounds and enjoy the spectacular surrounds at this beautiful heritage site. Complete your visit by relaxing over coffee and home-made refreshments at the Cape Leeuwin Cafe.

It gives you a good insight into how hard life was back in the early days especially at remote lighthouses.

Well worth the money. Views at the top are amazing, loved that it was informative. All the years coming to Augusta and even completing the cape to cape walk ending at this lighthouse it was first time going up. We also loved having a bite to eat prior to doing this tour at the cafe. Highly recommend

Excellent small group tour. Our guide, Jacqueline, was very knowledgeable and patient with all of our questions. It was also nice to be able to schedule our tour time in advance. Definitely worth the price of admission!

This place has something very special. I have been on this tour over 20 times and cannot put my finger on what it is. Listening to the history. Climbing the 176 steps to the top. Walking out on the deck in the howling winds and breathing in some of the cleanest air in the world. Looking out over the uninterrupted views as far as the eye can see. These few moments for me are where I finish one year, reset and begin the next with a fresh mind. My favourite location in Australia. Our guide this year was Murray, a truly passionate guy with an obvious love for the region.

A picturesque lighthouse with interesting history. Riley was a very knowledgeable guide and very patient with my slow climbing up and down the 176 steps (after 500+ steps in Mammoth cave earlier in the day). Thankyou Riley! At the top you have great views of where the Southern Ocean meets the Indian Ocean. The tour is 30 mins and gives you an insight into the hard job of lighthouse keepers back 'in the day'. Would highly recommend! Also there is an excellent cafe for a light lunch if you arrive a little peckish.

An excellent tour to the Top of the Lighthouse, where Two Oceans meet. Certainly a good workout. Out tourists guide, was most informative and it's worth the half hour trip up and down.

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the fully guided tour of the lighthouse. Our guide was friendly and knowledgeable and the other information on site was interesting too. Good value for money and not overly long in the lighthouse with a sensible group size for the space.

Visited on a bright sunny day with a light breeze. Our guide Sue gave us an excellent tour of the lighthouse - it’s 177 steps up,with great views from the top to where the Southern Ocean and Indian Ocean meet. Beware there can be quite a lot of flies around outside while walking round the grounds of the lighthouse!
