This was the best food tour ever! We were in a group consisting of people on their first trip to Boston up to and including people (including my husband, his cousin and cousin's wife) who had grown up there. Anthony kept us all engaged, laughing and eating during the whole trip. Food was amazing, stories even better. You need to take this tour to hear the stories about Prince's Spaghetti and about the Irish Mafia. You also need to go for the food. You think you are an insider, because you can join the debate about Modern Pastry vs. Mike's Pastry...then Anthony takes you to Briccio.. better than either of them, and no lines. Who knew?! Anthony, that's who! We learned that it was true that the restaurant food wasn't as good as in the past, because so many places had been bought out by large conglomerates. Anthony pointed them out as we walked by to the traditional places with the great food, that had been started by nonnas many years ago, and passed down through generations of the same families. If you plan on eating your way through the North End, take Anthony's tour first. P.S. Anthony, if you read this, what is the name of the salumeria where you got the amazing Italian subs? I know it wasn't Jersey Mikes!

Anthony ‘Flash’ provided us with a great insider tour of the North end. He made us laugh constantly with his stories and unfiltered comments. The food ‘samples’ were quite large and we were so full by the time we reached the last place. Plenty of breaks to get warm during the tour.

F*** you Anthony (said with love)!!! We had the best time on this food tour. The local history was amazing and so was Anthony. He made this tour come to life! Food stops were niche and would’ve been hard to find without him. 10/10 recommend!!

It was a blast. The stories and banter were the best part of the tour. His humor and honesty was refreshing and we were laughing throughout the tour. The food was very good and a nice cross section of the north end.

The tour began with 30 people standing around wondering where the tour guide was. Enter stage right ——Anthony smoking, carrying his cup of coffee, attitude and all. WHAT AN ENTRANCE! I soon realized that this food tour was going to be like no other. We laughed our way through five fabulous stops. My group loved the food and loved the banter! Anthony clearly has the gift of gab! We learned so much about his neighborhood so rich with history! We drawn in with his easy manner, and sharp and somewhat politically incorrect banter! Want to eat hood food learn history and go to a great comedy show… go on Politically Incorrect North End Food Tour! Anthony you should definitely take your show on the road!

  • You've gotta have a gimmick

I grew up in Boston. I know schtick when I see and hear it. Anthony (Tony, Flash) has found his gimmick and its "Masshole North End style". And it works, mostly. He will be late, there will be far too many people on the tour (30 on ours on a Sunday between Christmas and New Years 2025). He will spend way too much time talking about himself and Whitey Bulger. We never saw the North End historical trifecta of Paul Reveres's house, the Old North Church and the Copps Hill Burial ground. I'm pretty sure Flash never mentioned them. What he does offer is a grumpy 2 and half hour walking tour of Bostons' Little Italy. We began with one of the world's best Italian subs at Monica's Mercato Pizza. Where Tony shines is in the niceties of a thinly sliced cold cut for the prefect chew. He is not wrong, it was amazing. I've had my fair share of Italian subs, this was the best by far. Next a stop in front of law enforcement headquarters where Whitey Bulger helped take down the North End mafia, and was subsequently taken down himself. It's a sordid story involving silicon breast implants and dismemberment. Yum. We hit up some pizza and ravioli, standard North end fare, followed by Sfogliatelle (amazing) and affogato. Tony expressed. disdain for "Ben and Jerry's" cannolis with all the flavors of the rainbow. Again, he wasn't wrong. I remember when the North End was the North End. So was it worth the price of admission? Too many people is my biggest issue. I don't care about the f-bombs and the smoking, that's part of the show. But too many people and the tour sluggish. And while the cost of Tony's wife and daughter's handbags is fascinating ($3,000 each if you're asking) I'd rather hear about food and the History of the North End. If it's a nice day with good weather, have fun and come hungry. But for goodness sake don't call or text if he's late to the meeting place at the Library. He will be late and then he will name an shame you! after the affogato walk over to the old north church and see what its all about.

We had a great time in spite of the rain. The food was delicious and the pace of the tour was relaxed-gave plenty of time to enjoy our food. Great food choices!!

You will learn the Northend’s history from a true cranky old Boston Italian. As well as enjoy meeting others in the group and filling up on what these 5 square blocks has to offer.

Ticked all the boxes. It was very cold but we didn't really notice as our attention was held all the time. We were taken to places we wouldn't have found on our own.

  • Anthony the guide, is...

Anthony the guide, is definitely a no-nonsense local. Don't expect the typical politically correct tour/guide so if you're easily offended, you should consider a different tour. Be aware he does arrive a few minutes late & that's part of the experience. Food is good but if you take the tour on a Sunday, be aware that some places may be closed so there could be a substitue.
