Since 2002, Shannon Scott and his gifted guides have shown visitors not just a cemetery, but an ancient burial ground transformed into an 18th-century riverside plantation, now a Victorian cemetery. You'll be awestruck by the beauty and characters buried here, but will marvel at the hidden meanings of esoteric, religious symbols adorning grave art, and how much of it connects to Savannah and our everyday lives. As much as this is a history buff's deluxe day out, Bonaventure is a haven for wildlife with over 100 daily bird species! It's not unusual to see varieties of owls, hawks, eagles, but also foxes and, at times, dolphins in the river! While a photographer's dream tour, for our film buffs, Bonaventure as a filming location stretches back to the Silent Film Era all the way up to modern-day Film & TV, and of course, is central to everything inspirational to Midnight In The Garden of Good and Evil! By tour's end, you'll feel like a mini-expert and glad for the adventure!

This was hands-down one of the best tours we’ve ever done in Savannah. We have visited Bonaventure several times but never took an organized tour. We are so happy we did. So much to learn!! And Pascal our guide was amazing!!

We loved this tour! Hanna was full of knowledge and very interesting stories! There didnt seem to be a question she couldnt answer, even about things not usually included on the tour. Having a historian do your tour is the way to go. Pick this one and request Hanna:)

Beautiful place with so much history. Tour guide was okay but leaned more on fiction and folklore than facts which is disappointing in a place so rich on history.

Very informative. Guide was pleasant and interesting … a local so knew a lot of fun facts. Such a serene environment. I’m glad we walked instead of golf cart as I like to get up close to observe the details.

My friend and I loved this tour of the cemetary. There is so much history! Our guide Hannah did a fantastic job describing the various stories and legends of some of Savannah's most prominent families, as well as some of Savannah's more unvory characters. Well worth the money, I highly recommend!

Ken was a wonderful tour guide. A native of Savannah. Very respectful of the family plots. Lots of interesting information, theories about headstones, and wealth of historical knowledge. Highly recommend his tour.

Loved this historic tour! We learned a lot about the history of the people who lived in Savannah and about the meaning of the symbolism of this burial place. Ken is a great guide!
