What To Expect

XXXX Brewery Tour

In Queensland, XXXX means beer, but how did this iconic brew get its name? Find out on a fun and fascinating 90-minute tour of the XXXX brewery. Your guide greets you in the brewery’s visitor center. Enjoy an introduction to the history of beer making, and learn some of the brewery's techniques. After your introduction, walk throughout the central parts of this historic site. Put on safety gear and check out the machinery that brews, stores and bottles beer. Most weekdays, you can enter the Packaging Hall to marvel at the state-of-the-art packaging line. Watch thousands of beer bottles whiz past you on a distribution line; most breweries don't allow you to get this close! Once you have delved into the inner workings of the brewery, get instruction on how to pour the perfect glass of beer in the XXXX Restaurant and Bar. Taste four freshly made brews with a new appreciation for the work that went into making the tasty beverage. After about an hour and a half your tour wraps up. Feel free to kick back in the bar and enjoy XXXX's legendary beers or visit the gift shop before making your way to your next destination.

Excellent tour with Zack, knowledgeable, funny, and open to questions. Would thoroughly recommend a visit. Beer tastings and merchandise discount after the tour were great.

It was an interesting tour. Ken, our guide, was great. It was a little disappointing that the production line wasn’t running, as it was a Saturday. I would have booked for a weekday if I’d known. The bar staff in the day were pretty ordinary. They didn’t seem particularly interested in the visitors.

The history of the company was really interesting and filled in a lot of detail Imhad always wondered about. The label and packaging machines were really fast and fun to watch. The process is quite complex but done seemly very easily. An interesting point was that they make less beer than they did 5 years ago, because of overall less consumption of beer in general for Australia.

I love that the start of the tour gave a concise but interesting history in how beer came to exist and its modifications and importance over the centuries. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and engaging. It was great hearing how the by-products are used by other industries, so there is little waste. Ending with the tour with a tasting is always a bonus, particularly with delicious beverages

Excellent and informative tour with Ken and Ruby. Ken had lots of interesting snippets having been a worker at the brewery for many years. We did the tour and burger deal and the food was excellent. 3 generous tastings of beer at then end of the tour.

What a fantastic way to spend an afternoon. Really interesting with lots of facts and information with fun in and amongst. I did the burger afterwards with the included x 3 beer samples and the food was delicious. Well stocked shop Really recommend it!!!
