Join ROCK JUNKET for a Woodstock music history walking tour, now in our eighth year! Learn how this small Upstate NY village inspired the name for the 1969 festival, held 60 miles away. See sites and hear stories of Woodstock lore regarding Bob Dylan, the Band, Todd Rundgren, Jimi Hendrix and more. Learn about a little Woodstock history too, and how this town became a magnet for artists, musicians and eccentrics in this bucolic environment.
Tours are offered on Saturdays at 2 PM and run a little over two hours with mostly flat walking. Tour meetup spot is at 59 Tinker Street (not to one confused with 59 Mill Hill Road, which is a laundromat.) Look for Peace, Love and Cupcakes/Happy Life Productions store. Free parking available across from the Colony music venue at 22 Rock City Road. Also note that the Woodstock Festival site in Bethel and the Band’s ‘Big Pink’ house are not included on the tour. Too far out man.
Please try to arrive at 59 Tinker Street 15 minutes prior to the tour.

Our guide Larry was very nice. We went to the wrong meetup place and when we caught up to the group he was happy we made it. He was very informative and he knows his rock history. We had a great time.

Larry was an excellent guide, his knowledge of 1960’s music & the Woodstock area was amazing. I felt extra welcomed by the locals once they saw we were with Larry.

Do not recommend this tour unless you were a young adult or teenager in the 1960’s. We actually bowed out after only 45 minutes.

Larry was very knowledgeable. Lots of “inside” information and details not normally available without tons of research. Very pleased with the experience.

What a wonderful tour! Larry gave a most informative walk-about the town of Woodstock with an exceptional narration discussing the many musical icons who called Woodstock "home". A five star experience!

Overall, very informative & friendly tour. The guide, Larry, was very good. My suggestion to the company that advertised the tour: Please describe more in detail the progression of the tour. We were delayed due to the highway accident problems, numerous, and didn't know how to join the tour that had already begun. By accident, we found the tour already in progress on Tinker Street! Also your explanation about "you are responsible for the transportation to The Bearsville Center" was very confusing. You could have said "you drive your car from Tinker Street to The Bearsville Center yourselves." The weather was beautiful, though.

Larry was such a fun Rockin & Rollin tour guide! We learned so many interesting & obscure facts about the artists and how they helped to shape Woodstock. So much history of the town was incorporated in each segment of the tour. His passion for and knowledge of rock & roll history is truly incredible. Our group of 9 highly recommend this as a worthwhile & valuable tour w Larry.

Very informative and enjoyed walking in the footsteps of Bob Dylan, Janis Joplin, and John Sebastian. A little disappointed that the tour seemed to be focused on Bob Dylan but understood the change was based on all the activities in the town on the day of our visit.
