Private Winter Scenic Driving Tours focus on the western areas of Glacier National Park that are open in fall and winter. We make stops in and around Glacier National Park. Your guide will discuss the history of the park, glaciation, and other topics your private group is interested in.

Our stops include: the Hungry Horse Dam & Reservoir, Belton Bridge, Lake McDonald Lodge, Lake McDonald at Apgar Village and to round out the tour, ask your guide to stop at the Huckleberry Patch for a homemade milkshake or Glacier Park souvenir. We love our tours because they're custom, not combined with others and flexible to accommodate your group.

What To Expect

Hungry Horse Reservoir

Our first stop is the Hungry Horse Dam & Reservoir where guests will learn about town history. Guests will learn about the reservoir and the Forest Service land that surrounds the dam.

Belton Bridge

Our next stop is the Belton Bridge in West Glacier. Guests will learn about the flood of 1964, the history of Belton in Glacier, and enjoy sights of the Middle Fork River.

We took the Winter Scenic Driving Tour with Larry. It was awesome and we had a great time! Larry was knowledgeable and friendly. We opted for the sandwich lunch and the roast beef sandwiches are great. The weather cooperated so we got some sneak peeks of the mountains. I highly recommend this tour and ask for Larry if you go!

We had an amazing day with Larry on our Winter tour of Glacier Park. He was an exceptional guide, bringing a tremendous amount of local knowledge and lore, sharing all the best spots. Literally four hours of fun in a very comfortable Suburban. We felt very grateful to be able to bring our 20 lb dog with us and would highly recommend this tour!

A wonderful four hours experiencing this beautiful park. Plenty of stops to walk around and take pictures. Very informative and entertaining. So pretty in the winter, now I need to see it in the other seasons.

Our guide arrived promptly at our hotel to take us on the scenic driving tour of Glacier. We were thrilled with his knowledge of the area and of the many topics we discussed from snowfall to wildlife. We spotted eagles and quite a few turkeys. The park was stunning. We hope to return in the summer for a chance to see more wildlife.

Lori was the best kind of guide imaginable. She was personable, informed and enthusiastic, all with an infectious sense of humor. We had a great time with her, and we got to see everything we'd hoped we'd see. A million thanks to Lori and to Whitefish Outfitters for making our Christmas visit to Whitefish and Glacier an indelible and beautiful memory!

After booking the tour on line we had nothing but great communication with the company for the confirmation of the trip. Lincoln was our tour guide and was very kind, knowledgeable about the area and very cautious with his driving which we appreciated so much. The trip was great, both informative and serene. My guide was fantastic. He was so knowledgeable about every aspect of the excursion, and shared valuable insights along the way. He also knew the best photo shots at each location, and was very courteous as well. The sights were beautiful and this was a great way to experience it in one day.
