Discover the natural beauty hidden just off Hawaii’s famed Hana Highway on a waterfalls and rainforest hike in east Maui. This excursion takes you deep into one of Hawaii’s most popular valleys, where several waterfalls tumble within a short distance of one another. On this relaxed hike, take a dip into the pools located beneath the falls, clamor up columnar basalt rock formations to jump safely into the water, and enjoy a healthy lunch. What To Expect

Outfitted in a swimsuit, begin the journey from your hotel to where the Hana Highway begins. You’ll be driven to the entrance of the hiking area, which was selected for its heavy concentration of waterfalls. Your guide will lead you along streams to three or more of these breathtaking cascades, some more than 40-feet (12-meters) high. While many tourists flock to Hana Highway area for its scenic beauty, your local guide knows the best vantage points for appreciating the falls on your 2.5-mile (4-kilometer) hike. The waterfalls are breathtaking from land, but they’re even better up close. Wade into any of the pools under the falls—depending on the season, some are calm enough to pass beneath. With advice from the guide, adventurous types can climb up to the nearby columnar basalt ledges and jump 10- to 15- feet (3- to 4.5-meters) into the water below. After exploring the waterfalls enjoy a healthy lunch. A van will transport you back along the Hana Highway to your hotel.

This small group tour of the falls is one of the best adventures we have had while in Maui. Our tour guide was phenomenal, and we absolutely enjoyed our time viewing some of the falls located on private lands. This was a very unique experience, which I highly recommend. We enjoyed the walk through the forest and small farm learning about plants but the best part was definitely the swimming under the waterfalls and being able to jump in. The water was very “refreshing “!

P.T. of Hike Maui was an excellent guide who made everyone feel comfortable. I especially enjoyed his narration of the hike, including the plants and the history of Maui. I did the 2+ mile hike with visits to 3 waterfalls. All of it was spectacularly beautiful!

Our family spent most of a day on the private Waterfall and Rainforest Hiking Adventure. Abby was outstanding - she killed it! The private trails gave us an uncrowded chance to explore this amazing part of the island. The pace was great and Abby was a delight. She shared lots of local knowledge and took a personal interest in our group.

One of my favorite experiences on Maui so far. Super easy and chill hike with lots of info about the natural and geologic history of the island, the surrounding plants etc (and a surprise fruit tasting as we walked through a local farm!). Brian was super knowledgeable about so many aspects of the island and the jungle, and his dad jokes were pretty on-point. Absolutely loved getting to visit multiple waterfalls, and had a good amount of time for swimming & cliff jumping at each. So gorgeous, would do again!

Excellent hike our guide Sara was very knowledgeable about the island and provided a wonderful day! 🌺 Love that backpacks, ponchos and bug spray were provided. Did not experience any bugs at all.

We had an incredible hike that I would highly recommend. Naomi (our hike leader) picked up our group on time from our hotel and it was about an hour drive to our hiking spot. Naomi was knowledgeable, funny, engaging and a great group leader. Our hike was just after a huge rain storm so the waterfalls and rivers were flowing so fast and we so full. We got to see so many beautiful trees, flowers and passion fruit. Naomi taught us about the history of Hawaii and the nature of the environment. She was super prepared with ponchos, snacks and anything we needed. We even got to have a mini pedicure with the tiny fish that nibbled on our toes. The waterfalls were amazing and the water was so refreshing. Would definitely do this again and would highly recommend. Thanks, Naomi and Hike Maui!!

We had an amazing experience. The hike was not too challenging and there were three watering holes where we could cliff jump and swim. The hiking portion took about an hour to an hour and a half and we spent around 30 minutes at each swim spot. Definitely would recommend!

Excellent everything!! Sarah was amazing!! Swim trunks, hiking shoes, camera, they have hiking sticks and lunch when you get there!! So much fun!!! Do the cliff dives!!!
