The Conservation Ecology Centre is a driving force in creating a safe and vibrant future for wildlife on the Great Ocean Road. During your guided walk, you will encounter unique wildlife living freely in a stunning bushland environment overlooking the ocean.
Your visit includes a 75-minute walk with a conservationist guide along a 1.4km all-abilities path. Your guide will lead you through environments including grassland, forests, bushland and tree fern gullies, spotting unique wildlife along the way. You will learn about the ecology of the spectacular Otways and the research protecting the Great Ocean Road’s threatened species. During your tour, you will pause at the Conservation Ecology Centre Research Hub to learn about the conservation projects that Wildlife Wonders is supporting. Family passes and Companion Card available.

What To Expect
Great Ocean Road

Your guide will lead you through environments including grassland, forests, bush land and tree fern gullies, spotting unique wildlife along the way. You will learn about the ecology of the spectacular Otways and the research protecting the Great Ocean Road’s threatened species. During your tour, you will pause at the Conservation Ecology Centre Research Hub to learn about the conservation projects that Wildlife Wonders is supporting and see research techniques in action. Before or after your tour, you can relax in the cafe and enjoy a light lunch and refreshments, and browse the gift shop to pick up a memento of your visit

5.00We found the Wildlife Wonders tour by chance as we returned from Cape Otway. A wonderful small wildlife centre with enthusiastic and knowledgeable guides. The site whilst billed as wild, is sensitively enclosed but still providing a taste of the bush for visitors. Provision for hearing and seeing local flora and fauna is good and allows the guide to quickly lead a team of varied and interested tourists of all ages and nationalities. Worth visiting - small Coffee shop and clean loos are plus points too.

5.00We went on a rainy day, wondering if we would see many animals but we saw them all. A great tour guide with brilliant knowledge and radio earpieces means you don't miss anything she says. The Kangaroos even obliged to have a bit of a box! Great stuff in the gift shop as well and very friendly staff. Excellent conversation work they are doing here. Do take the detour from the Great Ocean Road to visit.

5.00An extraordinary experience and a visionary initiative. We had a very well-informed guide (Alyssa) who shared her passion with the group. To see potoroos, wallabies, kangaroos, koalas and emus all in their natural environment rather than behind wire, was inspiring. This is an extremely high-quality tour, well worth the money. The information is pitched at an accessible level while backed up by expertise and research. To know that the proceeds go to support the Conservation Ecology Centre is so gratifying. This was by far the highlight of our visit to the Otways.
