We had an amazing round trip around Samoa with our guide, Lubuto. He was knowledgeable, kind, and made sure we visited all the best spots, including great beaches and shopping areas. The scenery was stunning and the local food was delicious. Highly recommend this tour for a wonderful and memorable experience!

  • Beautiful Apia & the Island of Upolu, Samoa

We had cancelled this tour as Viator had indicated that there weren’t enough people who had made reservations. Our friends, however, did not cancel. When we arrived in port, Lubuto was there holding a sign for our friends as well as three other people. Our friends encouraged us to go on the tour. Are we ever glad we did! Lubuto was an excellent guide who drove us around this beautiful island. He was very friendly and informative. We drove around Apia, went to the market, and visited the beautiful Immaculate Conception Cathedral. We then toured the Robert Louis Stevenson Museum, stopped at the Papapapaitai Falls, had lunch at the quaint Ocean Club in Maninoa, which was more of a shack, where we ordered fish and chips (or chicken and chips) and a drink while sitting at picnic tables. Unfortunately, the island warriors greeting and Samoan entertainment were deleted from this particular tour. We continued on to Sua Ocean Trench, which was amazing to see as were the gorgeous ocean views. After spending some time there, we continued on to Sopoaga Falls. On our return to port, we stopped at the beautiful Piula Cave Pool where people were enjoying a refreshing swim. Lubuto made sure we arrived in time for our all aboard time on our ship. All in all, we thoroughly enjoyed this tour and were so happy we went. It was one of the highlights of our cruise en route to Australia and New Zealand.

  • A great guide in Samoa

Lubuto picked us up at the port right on time. Off we went in an air conditioner van with right hand drive. About 10 yrs ago they changed over to right hand drive because so many of the people went to New Zealand for work and goods to send home. First we went to the flag raising. A group of police officers, both men and women, dressed in uniform ( the men wear skirts called EI) came marching down the street with a band. We were told this signified the begging of the government work day. We were told to be quiet and respectful. There was a group of schoolchildren watching too. They applauded once the flag was raised. There was just a hand full of tourists watching too. No ships tour were there. It turned out to be a special treat. About a week ago there had been some sort of big government meeting that King Charles attended so cultural show we wanted to go to was canceled. We went to the market. They had a produce area and a crafts section. The fruits were limited to what is grown on the island, papaya, coconuts, bananas and pineapple. I saw some long beans, cabbage and not much else. We road, around for a while. The island is very beautiful and appeared to be much wealthier than American Samoa. It started to rain. Lubuta suggested we drive up to the mountains to a lookout spot. He said very few tourists go there. When we got there it was raining and too clouded over to see anything. Lubuta call a family that lived very near by and an older woman(the grandmother) and her 10yr old granddaughter brought out 3 plates with cut up papaya, chunks of coconut and baby finger bananas for us to snack on. They refused compensation. The Samosas share what they with visitors. Lubutas wife is a physician, his father is a minister. On the way down the mountain we stopped at Robert Louis Steven’s home. He lived and died on the island. Lubuta said he did a lot for the people. All in all a great day with some special treats.

  • Wonderful Tour of Samoa

This was an excellent tour, thanks in large part to our terrific guide Elisapeta. She gave great commentary and is very well suited to be a host/guide for the day. All the sites we visited were very interesting, as well as scenic. And the spot for our beach lunch was great. This is an excellent tour for a first time visit to Samoa. It was very much a highlight of our cruise throughout the South Pacific.

Tasi was an excellent host with non-stop informative commentary. He is obviously a proud Samoan and family man. We had rain by the bucketload at times which did nothing to dampen the experience. Lots of photos with those at the Sopoaga Falls the highlight.

  • Best way to pack in the sites and culture of Samoa in one day with an informative guide.

A great way to learn about the sites and culture of Samoa, especially when you are short on time or don’t have a car. Seeing the sites of Apia and then going across and around the island.

  • I had a rough day leading...

I had a rough day leading up to the tour due to an injury but Butou (I'm sorry if I'm misspelling your name) accommodated and made it worth the wait. There's a lot of good views of the island although I will note that there is a little walking involved along the coast. The walk in itself is not difficult but it's hot out there! Thankfully water and AC was provided in the van. If you're visiting the island, I strongly recommend you get yourself a tour!

We travelled with other passengers from our cruise ship. Our guide Elijah and our driver Inei as well as staff photographer Derek were all wonderful. The bus was well maintained and comfortable. The market, waterfalls and the scenic drive was great. The meal at lunch and the entertainment was amazing.

The tour was wonderful from the beginning. The bus was air conditioned, which was really appreciated. We visited the Robert Louis Stevenson home, which was very interesting. Visited two spectacular waterfalls, the main market area, and drove through beautiful countryside. Our tour guide, Elijah, was not only good at teaching us about his island: he demonstrated a fire dance! We had a nice lunch at the beach, and enjoyed local song and dance. Remember to ask for Elijah!
