With the choice of three daily departures from Cairns, this Green Island cruise is perfect for visitors with limited time, offering a half or full day experience (up to 7 hours). You will have the choice of a glass bottom boat coral viewing tour or snorkelling equipment.
As a Great Adventures guest, you’ll also be able to enjoy many exclusive inclusions such as the use of the island swimming pool and a self guided eco island walk to discover some of the island’s unique rainforest flora. What To Expect
Green Island National Park
Green Island is a beautiful 6000 year old coral cay. It's the only coral cay on the Great Barrier Reef with a rainforest! You will have a choice of snorkel equipment to snorkel from the white sandy beaches or to stay dry and see the island's reef from the glass bottom boat. Enjoy a walk through the lush rainforest.

3.00Quite honestly, it was a waste of money. All we experienced was 45 minutes of snorkeling. Despite us informing the staff upon booking that one individual couldn't swim, additional assistance wasn't provided. You have to be able to swim to enjoy this activity, so a waste of money and time.

5.00We booked the 3 hour session, and were lucky enough to extend longer once we got to the island - and still didnt have enough time to see everything. The staff were INCREDIBLE and super helpful. Highly recommended paying the extra to go out deeper in the reef, it was phenomenal! Will remember our day on Green Island for the rest of our lives.

4.00You don't actually get tickets online- you instead need to arrive 45 minutes prior to departure and join a massive queue to get physical tickets. So many people were confused by this and this seems really inefficient. They did have enough staff on, so the queue moved quickly but there were people panicking as we got closer to the departure time for the boat over to Green Island. There are a lot of staff onboard so you can choose either snorkelling equipment/glass bottom boat. There are also staff selling other activities like parasailing. We chose the glass bottom boat which was brief, but the guide was excellent. We'd brought our own snorkelling equipment (good call) but we should brought snacks with us. There was plenty of food available for purchase on the island but at a price reflective of a captive market.

Convenient transport to Green Island

4.00We came in on a cruise ship so this was a convenient option for our port schedule. The catamaran was spacious so you could bring your own gear. The glass bottom boat was easy to get to right next to to the catamaran landing point. On the boat had 30 minutes of glimpsing coral, clams, and many fish. It goes by quickly but was nice for those of us who didn’t like to swim. We saw turtles from the jetty. Activities after that are on your. Plenty of cafes for food purchase. Crocodile enclosure (30 AUD). Near shore snorkeling (equipment rentals available). Or a short boardwalk through the rain forest. After about 2 hours of free time we arrived back promptly at 3:15.

4.00The boat was neat, saw many fish and coral, however we were sad it was only 30 minutes. Our boat guide was great though! The island was really neat to explore. The food options were very limited as one worker said it was due to the holidays and them selling out of many items. Our weather was hot and humid. We luckily missed the storm that came through in the previous days, but it did cause some water cloudiness.
