  I had a wonderful time learning to ski at Shiga Kogen and wanted to share my appreciation for the team. - Seamless Booking: The entire booking process was incredibly smooth and hassle-free. From the initial inquiry to the final confirmation, everything was handled efficiently, making the logistics of the trip much easier to manage. - Excellent Instruction: A huge shout-out to our instructor, Karol. He was fantastic! He was patient, professional, and had a great way of breaking down techniques. 2 days and in total of 6 hours lessons sounds not much and indeed we love to have more time to learn too! -Fun & Progressive Learning: The lessons were the perfect balance of fun and challenge. We had a very progressive learning experience, moving from basic movements to feeling much more confident on the slopes by the end of our time. I highly recommend this school to anyone looking to improve their skiing in Shiga Kogen Central. We can’t wait to come back!

  We had 5 days of lessons for our two children and two of their friends. They had never been on skis before and George was wonderful with them. He made it fun and the kids progressed beyond belief. Thanks for making their first experience so great. We’d definitely recommend ride Shiga.

  Great service and lesson with Bronte despite limited visibility. Good to learn in those conditions too. Also had Fabrizio a guide for half a day which was a great introduction to the mountain,

  We went snowboarding for the first time and did private lessons with Bronte and Ruri - they were both amazing! Really positive people with good instructions. Even as a group of four, they both still managed to give us individual tips to help us get out on the mountains for the rest of the week! One person also did a group skiing lesson with Victor, who was also really nice, patient, and gave encouraging feedback for a first time skiier. To me the biggest MVP was Erin, who was my point of contact for booking and editing lessons. She was so helpful and professional in every single exchange, whether over email or text. Any time I ran into an issue or needed clarification on something, she was able to provide it! Definitely one of the

  I booked a private beginner ski lesson for one hour. The instructor arrived on time and taught me in the slopes nearby our hotel. The instructor was an excellent teacher and taught me the basics in one hour. Fantastic experience!

  We are very pleased with Ride-Shiga and especially our teacher Vicky. She expertly worked with both my partner and myself of different experience and confidence levels making sure we both were able to enjoy the experience and improve our skill levels considerably. Thank you for making our time on the slopes incredible and we hope to be back soon!

  First, the good bits. The booking process was easy and communications with Jan had been excellent. They were really accommodating with timing of lessons. My children enjoyed their lessons with Sarah who was bubbly and warm. Unfortunately I did not have a great experience with my beginner private lesson. Without checking what I was able to do or any warm up after not skied for a year, the instructor took him up a lift and I struggled a great deal with the steepness of the ‘beginner slope’ as I was still trying to find my ski legs. During one of the falls on the slope, I felt something snapped in my knee and I knew I have injured it. However I was told there was no other option but to carry on skiing down the slope which I eventually did. The instructor was patient waiting for me but didn’t offer any useful assistance. After we sat down at the bottom of the slope to have a rest, he was busy scrolling on his phone rather than checking how I was and at no point did he ask if I needed medical assistance. I felt that perhaps more care was needed for beginners and the instructor was a bit less than professional in dealing with injuries and problems.

  Ride Shiga were absolutely great. I had two "group" lessons with Genado, a lovely Argentinian instructor. And in the end...I was the only one in the "group"! Two lots of three great hours during which not only did he help me massively with my skiing, working with me through lots of good exercises and drills, and also just generally building my confidence up to and including doing a black run, but he also took us over quite a wide ranging set of lifts, gondolas and runs so I got a tour of the mountain also. Highly recommend them for lessons. Their management was also very helpful and communicative when I made the booking for the second lesson in the last minute.
