King Car Kavalan Distillery
Established in 2005, Kavalan is Taiwan’s first whiskymaker and the nation’s only family-owned whisky distillery. Kavalan takes the old name of Yilan county where the distillery is located in northeastern Taiwan. The pure water and fresh air make this part of the subtropical island the ideal environment for the production of whisky. Don't miss it if you are a whisky fan!

5.00An amazing day in Yilan! Good way to get a feel for the local sights. Nicolas Ying did a wonderful job of showing us around and bringing the local flair.
Definitely the best way to visit Kavalan Whisky Distillery, Yilan area, and Mr. Brown’s Castle

5.00I highly recommend taking a private tour to Yilan, especially if you’re interested in visiting Kavalan Whisky distillery and seeing the highlights of the area. Toku of Yolo Taiwan Travel took good care of us, allowing for plenty of time at the distillery and recommending other sites to see. Local Peking-style duck for lunch was very delicious. Another benefit of having a private smaller vehicle (not tour bus) is a ride up to Mr. Brown’s Castle for coffee at the cafe! The view of the ocean from the mountain is very nice. Do it, you won’t be disappointed.

5.00Nicolas was beyond compare! His local knowledge is worth its weight in gold. Growing up in the area he knew all secret spots and routes. Great guy & fantastic english too! Highly Recommend Him for anyone coming to Taiwan!

5.00Our tour guide, Bubble, is very experienced and knowledgeable in his profession. He payed close attention to each individual's needs and addressed issues before being asked. Quickly, he become friends of everyone. We arrived Taipei at its peak temperature in summer. Bubble rearranged our (indoor/outdoor) stops to make it easier for us to mitigate the heat. In addition. he introduced local religions and culture to us while traveling on his van. He pointed out stuff that are unique in Taiwan, but was overlooked. With him by our side, it felt like we knows everything about Taiwan in a few hours. We would love to have Bubble as our guide for our future adventure in Taiwan. He is simply the best!

5.00This was a fun relaxing trip with the best tour guide, Vincent! He was so nice, helpful, informative and his car was very comfortable. We visited KavaLan whisky distillery and sampled the goods! Then we visited an animal farm and feeding the critters was a blast - made us laugh! Vincent took so many pictures of us, too. We requested a fresh seafood restaurant and Vincent easily located one which had fresh abalone and lobster. Ended the day at Mr Brown’s castle for Whisky ice cream and a Whisky Latte! The drive included the longest tunnel through Snow Mountain. We highly recommend this tour and private is the way to go.

3.00Steven was accommodating. Due to the inclement weather, visits to the beach was unnecessary. Mixing our own whisky at Kavalan was an interesting experience.

5.00I recently went on a whiskey tour with Vincent Lee as our guide, and he was fantastic! Out of all the tours I've been on, Vincent was the best by far. He was super friendly, very knowledgeable, and genuinely cared about making sure everyone had a great time. The tour itself was really fun and exciting, thanks to his enthusiasm and expertise. Highly recommend!
