Train experience
Your journey includes 1st-class tickets on the Bernina panoramic red train, traveling along the famous UNESCO-listed Bernina railway.
The panoramic train runs every hour, offering the exact same spectacular route and views as the Bernina Express, but with more flexibility and fewer crowds.
For travelers who specifically prefer the Bernina Express panoramic carriage, we can arrange it upon request, subject to availability.
Please note that the Bernina Express operates only once per day, and tickets often sell out months in advance.

What To Expect
Tirano
Tirano is the lowest point of the Bernina train line - 429 meters. Our first stop is a charming Italian village in the Alps, a few kilometers away from the Swiss border. Tirano offers many options for a delicious lunch made out of fresh ingredients. Along our way to Tirano, our knowledgeable guide will share with you many tips about the life of the small rural population, alpine life and traditions and the local history of one of the biggest alpine valleys. See the incredible vineyards on the mountain slopes and taste a special local wine of the Alps.
Val Poschiavo
Only a 25 km train ride brings travelers from the orchards and palm trees in Tirano to the glaciers of the Bernina Pass at 2,253 meters. The valley is surrounded by 3,000-meter-high peaks on both sides, the highest of which, the Piz Palü, reaches 3,900 meters. Three climate and vegetation zones are represented here, from extreme cold and snowy to Mediterranean, which provide a wide range of agricultural products. From the top of the Bernina train line, the view over Poschiavo Valley is unbelievable.

He is very knowledgeable—providing context and insight to what you are seeing; and is very personable and charismatic. He also makes great suggestions on places to see when exploring on your own. The morning meeting was not too early, which allowed us to better prepare for the wonderful day in the Swiss Alps! Our guide Stefano was immediately very professional, full of knowledge about the places we were visiting, friendly and very funny! It was a wonderful day, the journey on the Bernina train allowed us to admire the splendid alpine landscapes, high altitude pastures, glaciers and forests, up to Saint Moritz! I recommend everyone to have this experience and I thank Stefano, we couldn’t ask for anything better!

5.00We took a tour with Oleg Danilyk in Russian language and it was really good and informational. Oleg is a very caring guide and paid a lot of attention to our grandkids. He speaks both Russian and English.
