5.00I was looking for private tour outside Taipei.. and this is what I find. I like Joseph our guide. He is flexible for our needs.. for instance.. instead of regular rest stop.. he brought us to local grocery store so that we can buy cookies as gifts . When he learns we did not like street food due to health concern.. he adjusted plans to stop at taitung restaurant w Michelin guide that was nice surprise. So to me.. this tour brought me lots of in and customization. We like lakes but fast paced.. he listened to us.. showing key areas like wemwu temple but ask us to adjust time as necessary. He was also thoughtful to put a cafew lake view. We like sunmoon lake and feel blessed to get extra stop while skipping thosae e did not like Finally.. the journey back can be lonng and frustrated.. but Joseph made conversation.. showing xin chu science park and how Taiwan has changed. I learned. Alot about Taiwan culture and his local perspectives

5.00Sun Moon Lake is a beautiful area and a respite from urban Taipei. Joseph, the tour guide, was very knowledgeable of the surrounding lake area, and he was able to show me areas that most day visitors would miss. This tour was a very good investment, Justaiwantour is an exceptional tour company.

5.00We had a lovely day in Sun Moon Lake guided by An. An is a great driver and knowledgeable guide, who communicated with us days ahead of our tour to help us prepare for the experience. An has a great demeanor and personality and took care of us from the beginning to the end of our tour. As an LGBTQ+ couple, we felt very safe, and welcomed by An, which was a great relief as we explored rural Taiwan. (This was true everywhere we went in Taiwan - very LGBTQ+ friendly!!) An picked us up on time and accommodated the itinerary to our needs and interests, pivoting as needed throughout the day, while staying on time. The flow of the day was wonderful. An recommended several experiences, which included a bike ride by the lakeside, boat rides to different points of interest, including beautiful temples, and visiting the busy old street. We also took the gondola ride, with stunning views of the lake and mountains. We experienced the amazing local, indigenous cuisine, and culture in the old street. It was a glorious day, and we were lucky to have lovely, sunny weather, and clear, blue skies, which highlighted the lake waters! The last spot on the tour was the incredible Wen Wu Temple, which we visited at Sunset. Ann took time throughout the tour to take our picture in different spots (which is better than only having selfies!). This was a highlight of the trip and the perfect time of day to visit. An shared cultural aspects about visiting the temple which were a new discovery for us and much appreciated, such as entering the temple through the right side, and exiting through the left side. We would have loved to stay longer in this area, which has lots to offer both in nature, and culture. An delivered us back to our hotel in Taipei safely at the end of a long day. The drive to Sun Moon Lake from Taipei is 3 hours, which seemed long traveling back and forth on the same day, but we were able to relax while An drove, and combined moments of interesting conversation, and moments of rest, even napping on the road. We’d be happy to recommend, and travel with An again the next time we’re in Taiwan.

4.00Sun moon lake itself is beautiful! But if u plan to visit this place, stay there for a night or 2 cuz its a 3 hour drive from taipei and the area has lots of hotels and food stalls and tourist centers. The boat transfers are convenient as well. Although we had to cut our tour really short cuz we wanted last dinner at taipei before we leave. But we are so happy that pur driver/guide Mr Chia Jung understood us, took photos for us and dropped us off a Din Tai Fung. Thank you for driving us around safely.
