Jane is an amazing tour guide. She encompassed the multicultural aspect of Phuket by introducing me to food from China and Myanmar as well as Thai since these ethnicities have deep roots here. We discussed food, ingredients; she gave me solutions to problems I was having cooking some of these dishes and provided history lessons in the development of Phuket from the Portuguese/Chinese tin mining and architecture to the present-day tourism. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Great experienced for me and my husband. Chef VJ is exceptional on explaining the ingredients and its origins and why’s, whats, how’s. I would definitely will do this again if given a chance.

Review I can say in all honesty, without exaggeration, this tour has been the absolute highlight of my holiday. I came to Thailand not only to enjoy the sun, sea and sand but to get a glimpse of the culture and enjoy the world renowned food. Jane was the perfect guide, I got a bit of culture, a LOT of delicious and unusual food and cooked my own ‘ahpong’ and had the privilege of the company of a delightful guide. Five stars really isn’t enough.

Jane is absolutely amazing! She took her time to explain everything about the history of what we’re eating, where we were, and even the people who were cooking for us. She also snapped some great pictures of us that we’ll cherish forever. Thank you so much Jane!

Jane is a great host. She shares her knowledge about Phuket and some of the different cultures that now call Thailand home through its food. You will learn interesting information about the culture and architecture too. You will not be disappointed. Make sure to come hungry.

Jane couldn’t have been a more lovely tour guide. She took us to eat at places that we never would have found on our own. Places that were Thai and also from other cultures that have become part of Thailand such as China, Myanmar and Malaysia. She gave us the history of the foods and the people that brought them to Phuket. Thank you Jane for an educational and delicious day.

Seriously good tour. Jane is one of the most genuine tour guides we’ve come across. Most food walking tours are great but what sets this one apart is the conversation throughout you have with Jane on Thai culture. All the food spot on. Perfect amount of walking. We paced ourselves at the first stop and were glad as you want room in the belly to fit it all in.

I had an amazing experience at this Thai cooking class. The instructors were friendly, patient, and explained everything clearly, making it easy to follow along even if you’re not an experienced cook. We made Tom Yum soup, Pad Thai, Thai curry, and mango sticky rice, and every dish turned out delicious. I really appreciated learning about the ingredients, traditional techniques, and how to balance the flavors properly. The class was hands-on, fun, and well organized, and I left feeling confident that I could recreate these dishes at home. Highly recommend this experience to anyone visiting Thailand or anyone who loves Thai food.

Being self-proclaimed foodies, we were originally thinking we might do a cooking class on our last day in Phuket but then we found this food tour & city walk with Jane & decided that we would rather eat than cook (!) and also learn a little bit about Phuket’s history, whilst walking off some of the food at the same time…and we were so glad we did! It was a last minute booking (we booked the day before) via WhatsApp & had great communication from Jane the whole way through. The tour was awesome! From the vibrant stalls of fresh fruits, veggies and flowers at the produce market, the Baba/Peranakan history, cultural heritage and Thai traditions. And then there’s the food! Phuket has an amazing blend of Asian & European (Portuguese) cultures that influence its cuisine & Jane took us to places we would never have known to venture into. We can’t remember the names of all of the places we visited, however we knew it was going to be good after our first stop at Lock Tien, where we were treated to the most amazing traditional Hokkien fresh soft spring rolls & pork belly sausage. Other food highlights included….well, absolutely all of it! It was all great so we can’t point out just a few dishes and it was also interesting to learn about how different cuisines made their way into Thai culture. Jane is a wonderful tour guide, she has great knowledge of the Thai culture & cuisine and shared her knowledge eloquently, with warmth, passion and good humour as she introduced us to the eateries and showed us around some of the main cultural & famous landmarks in old Phuket town. Lastly, there was special sweet treat at the end of the tour, at Torrys Ice cream, if you can fit it in! It was all so good, definitely a highlight of our Phuket holiday. Highly recommended, especially if you love food and interested in learning about some of the rich cultural history of Phuket.
