On a hot summer's day, one of the best things to do in Palm Springs is to take a ride from the dry desert floor with the Aerial Tramway, 5,873 feet up into the cool climate of the San Jacinto Mountains. Please present voucher to the ticket office. Tickets will be timed for the next available tram car as a first come first serve basis.
The Tramway is subject to delays and periodic shutdowns due to unforeseen circumstances and is not responsible for ticket refunds or the inability to redeem a voucher
Tramway cars hold 80 people each and there are no seats. Passengers remain standing throughout the journey up the mountain
Distance is approximately 12,800 feet, with a vertical ascent of 5,873 feet - 15 minutes travel time one way
The tramway is known as a double reversible type of aerial tramway. Each car remains on one pair of track cables moving up and down without turning around. Each car serves as a counter balance to the other, the descending car is helping pull the ascending car up the mountain
Strollers are permitted on this tour
During holiday periods, you may experience long lines. We recommend you travel outside of these peak times to fully enjoy everything the tramway and mountain have to offer.
There is parking in 13 paved lots near Valley Station. There is free shuttle service from parking lots to Valley Station entrance available weekends and holiday periods

4.00The experience itself was GREAT! The process of obtaining a ticket at the time YOU want within the app leave a lot to be desired. ADVISE A TIMED TICKET UP FRONT OR ELSE ARRIVE FIRST THING IN AM or you’ll have a 2.5 hour wait by 11am

1.00Buying directly through the tram is the way to go. They give you a timestamp of the time of the tramway. No benefit with long lines to stand in line for multiple hours with a third party provider. Go directly to the website

5.00The tram is an experience in itself. Get there early to avoid long waits or get timed tickets ahead on their website. Cocktail lounge at the top with great drinks. Take a hike around the desert loop trail for great views.

5.00Super cool experience. The wait time can be long if you go when it’s busy, in the middle of the day. There’s a cafe, gift store, and seating area to wait at the bottom. You can walk around and explore a little to kill the time. The tram and views were awesome. The outlook at the top had beautiful views

1.00Although we had a ticket through Viator, when we arrived we were told the wait time was 3 hours. Tickets purchased directly through the tram get a timed entry but all other tickets had to wait. We ended up not being able to do it due to the wait time.

3.00It says it was a ticket, but in reality it was a voucher for a ticket. It required us to stand in line for over 30 minutes to get an actual ticket, and then wait for over 2 hours to take the tram. I would have appreciated clearer and accurate information, since I was aware that I could purchase a timed ticket in advance directly from the Tram website. The tram itself and the experience were both very nice.

4.00There is absolutely no benefit to purchasing ahead of time, as those without tickets and those with vouchers are all put into the same line. If you purchase directly from the website for timed entry, that allows you to arrive and line up for boarding, but those tickets sell out quickly. I would also say that if you are traveling with someone with physical limitations, there is very little empathy for that situation. I was told to find them a place to sit, while I then had to leave them alone to join the very lengthy line. with my Viator voucher. The ride to the top and the views are stunning. We had a very nice lunch at the Peaks restaurant which has lovely views and a tranquil vibe.
